Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Legion Space, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and can adjust power regulation leading to improved battery life. To check for updates within Legion Space begin by launching the application, then click "Disks and Drivers" located at the bottom of the display, then select "Check for Updates".
The Legion Go S can also adjust the active performance profile and fan speed of the device based on your needs. To start press the hexagonal options key located on the right controller, then select the performance tab represented by the rocket ship, from here you can adjust the performance mode. We recommend using Quiet Mode which will increase battery life and reduce fan noise.

However — and I’ll be honest — it’s not all sunshine and rainbows (and no one said it was). SteamOS still has compatibility warts with some games that depend on Windows-only tech like certain anti-cheat systems, but that’s more a limitation of Linux/Proton than Lenovo

The fact that it comes with Steam OS is a huge advantage. Obviously, you need to know at least a little about Linux to get the most out of it, but if you're just a console gamer, it'll still work for you. The battery life is short, though, and the device is enormous. It doesn't seem portable at all; I can't imagine taking it on trips. In the end, I traded it for a gaming laptop, but for those who like the concept, it's fantastic

Exceeded Expectations

Would highly recommend you spend time optimizing performance and look into apps such as Lossless FrameGen to help with the experience. While Steam OS is better than Windows, these still take some tinkering. I have a really nice desktop set-up and spend a lot of time chasing frame rates with my hardware there so I was a bit nervous using this device. Honestly, this was exactly the device I needed and reminded me of the fun in gaming and that its not just about the little FPS number in the corner or whether I have the deepest deep blacks on an oled screen. Being able to be lazy on the couch, game to and from work on the train, game on flights, game in the same room my kids are watching tv, etc has beem awesome. Sure its not going to run Crimson Desert well (natively, for now, but you can SteamLink this!), but I just played the entirety of Resident Evil Requiem natively on this thing with zero issues.

It’s annoying that Legion not only didnt bother to include a case, but this was lauched without any accessories available. Official case announced but looks like overpriced and mediocre. Also this was designed to be $499 but they increased price right bedore launch.

You can connect a cobtroller and headset to it with no problem. Even without a headset it is very loud. Steam OS is great and easy to use. It is also very comfortable to hold and the fans do a good job at keeping it cool. 10\10 would buy again

Handle with care

He has only had it 30 days though and already we are heading in for maintenance bc he has a button stuck. He is very mindful of how he handles his machines and takes care of everything he owns. This is not a case of abuse.
