Better than an empty Nest

The speaker serves as a stand to hike it up for better visibility. However, the Google assistant's intelligence started out very impressive but since Nest took it over it is mediocre at best. Anyone who gives it commands tends to talk more than the device itself because it rarely comprehends what is being asked of it.

Don't work with voice calling

I purchased 4, and they all did the same. Google nor Lenovo owning up to the problem. It's a very nice system, dont know what to do. Its supposed to be waiting for a system up date from Google to fix the problem. Dont know if that will ever happen.

I assumed it would be fairly simple to set up but, it felt like it was a process. After downloading the Google home app it took a while to sync with my home wifi. Then it took a while to figure out how to use duo. In retrospect I should have bought the echo show or the Facebook thing.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Smart Display. All smart displays do take a little time to set up and sync. Please follow these stems for set up:
a) Take the Lenovo Smart Display out of the box and plug in the power adapter on the back side.
b) Download the “Google Home” app on your phone/tablet and sign in on your Google account.
c) The app will show you a new Lenovo Smart Display is nearby. Click to set it up.
d) Follow the instructions inside the application until the setup is completed.
Then you can start your conversation with “Hey Google”. The average set up time will take approximately 5 to 8 minutes.Important: If you already use Duo, make sure you connect your Google Account to your Duo phone number in the Duo app on your phone before following these steps.
1. Open the Google Home app .
2. At the bottom, tap Home .
3. Tap your Smart Display Settings Duo video calling.
4. Follow the steps.

Second, I want to control my ac using it. Third, I hope to use it to video chart and monitor my security cams. However, in order to video chat, the other person needs to download google duo. Also, it doesn't compatible with my security cam. I am think to switch to echo show now.

Screen makes a much more engaging experience

In fact these companies Should be practically giving them away if you think of all the free data they are collecting. I own the Google home hub too and I think this is a better product with a camera. Not sure why Google is making a big deal about a picture frame. Lenovo did a nice job with putting a manal switch to cover camera. I would get another and recommend it.

I have read some of the reviews that state it is difficult to use. Setup and execution of the video calls seem to be an issue. I was able to resolve that by going to my Gmail account and adding the contacts online. the Gmail contacts get synced with the Lenovo (not the ones on your phone). If you go by that rule you will be golden. I have bought one for my daughter and mother who live in different states.

Best Google Assistant

Love the dual finish, it is very reliable and 1 million times better than any current Alexa hardware and other Google assistants. The link to out google nest camera is amazingly convenient. We keep this unit in our kitchen and its the primary console we interact with to control our smart devices in our home. Winner.
