    I was hesitant to purchase a 3rd party Google Home Hub but went for it due to features not available on the Google branded one (screen size and camera). I feared pairing issues, but Lenovo did a great job with this product. I regularly enjoy watching the news, reviewing the weather forecast, and a quick heads up on my morning commute all while getting ready for work. 10" screen is the perfect size to display at my vanity, a side table in the living room or bedroom.

    This digital assistant works pretty well other than voice recognition. I had to disable that feature as it never recognized my voice and thus wouldn't let me see my calendar or contacts. Hopefully it will continue to be updated and add skills. Having a screen makes it much better than my Amazon Echo and Google Assistant. I bought it on sale for $99. Well worth that price. Don't know if I'd feel the same if I paid regular price of $199.

This depends on the volume of your voice, background noise, and volume setting. Your Lenovo Smart Display should be able to hear you from across the room, which we estimate to be up to 8 meters distance. Please check the volume on the display and make sure it is turned up.     When I bought this 2 weeks ago, I did not realize that I would be this happy with it. I can get anything I want on Utube and it continues to play movies or even song videos for many hours without any hesitation or commercials. I have taken it out of my kitchen and put it in my bedroom where it's more useful for me. It's great on asking it anything. The only thing I would add to this is a small remote control and about a 13" screen.

    I used Alexa but my wife heard that this thing can help with cooking by using your voice. It has all of the same features plus the screen makes all the difference. My wife like to try new receipies and this thing coaches her thru it. I like music so I have linked my pandora and sporitfy account. The nice bonus feature was the photos from my albums show up while it's idle.

    I just got this little smart display and have been really disappointed. While the smart assistant works great and the sound is actually decent for the size, the video chat quality is *horrible*. This is a big deal since I had planned on using it primarily to video chat. The video image will lag and glitch, but worst of all the audio does as well (making a video call conversation all but impossible). This is not my WiFi issue either as a google duo video chat works great on my tablet in the very same room as this smart display. Hoping for some kind of an update soon, otherwise I’ll return and get a different brand. (Note: Lenovo directed me to Google for support on this and Google directed me back to Lenovo.go figure).

      Hello, we are sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue with the free video chat feature with Google Duo on your Lenovo 7" Smart Display.. We recommend switching between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands of your router. In some instances overlap from other wireless devices can cause wifi/connection issues. To do this please ensure your device is within good range of your router. Then please perform a factory reset on the device by holding down the “Volume + and – ” buttons on top of your device for 8 Seconds. During setup please select a different band *Either 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz when connecting to your WiFi Network. Lastly please reset your model and router by powering them down for 20 seconds then back on again. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support team at 866-426-0911 Lenovo

    Great device for the whole family

    I love the device to check travel times and my schedule. I also love that when my son said he was bored an array of interactive stories popped up. It also works great as my Central hub for all my smart lights and smart plugs. It understands my 3 yr old and does more each time he uses it. So glad I decided to buy it!

    Nice device but can't be a Google Home speaker

    THIS IS A MAJOR FLAW IN GOOGLE HOME DESIGN! No smart display and no Chromecast video device (e.g., Chromecast Ultra) can act as a speaker in your setup. So if you have multiple Google Homes and Chromecast audio devices in a speaker group, you can't add a Smart Display to your speaker setup (e.g., so you have the same music playing in every room). Google really needs to fix this. Until they do, I would not recommend buying ANY Google Smart Display. If this is not important to you then you will probably enjoy the device. Unfortunately as much as I am a fan of Google (and Lenovo), Google has a habit of doing some incredibly stupid things!

      The Lenovo Smart Display currently doesn't support speaker grouping / multi-room audio, but the Lenovo Smart Display will support it before the end of this year. lenovo

    I like the speakers on this. They get pretty loud and they dont distort at high volumes. I usually listen to music on it and occasionally play some YouTube videos in the background. I keep it in my living room and it fills up the space pretty well.

    I've had a pretty good time with this device. It's pretty convenient to use around the house and it's convenient to cast movies and shows onto while i'm doing other things. The display size is good and it doesn't take up too much space.

    Very nice but handicapped

    I own a Google Home Hub, 3 Lenovo Smart Displays, and a two gen 2 Amazon Echo Show Smart Displays. All these devices support a set of very similar features, but the Google devices IMHO have one big deficiency when it comes to video cam support that yoy all should be aware of. I have multiple video cams consisting of 5 Amazon cloud cams and 3 TP-Link KASA cams. Both my KASA cams and Amazon Cloud cams are perfectly viewable on my Amazon Echo Show displays but only the KASA cams can be viewed on the Google and Lenovo displays. Be forewarned that because of the silly war between Google and Amazon, Google has the almighty power to censor whose cams you are privileged to view on their smart displays.

    not a happy camper...

    i purchased this and was so excited to finally get one after all the wonderful reviews I had read... I brought it home, set it up... that part seemed pretty easy... synced it with my phone... and proceeded to become unenchanted... it will only make a video call sporadically... most of the time it tells me that it cannot recognize my voice or I have no such contact in the list... I found a youtube video that helped me sync it to my iPhone in a better way... still only sporadic... it will not make ANY regular phone calls... tells me that there will be a charge and then disconnects... at least half of the time that either my grandson or myself tries to use it, it says that it does not recognize our voices... we have reset our voices several times... and I do mean several... I tried to set up reminders and appointments... easier just to use my iPhone... I called Lenovo for help, they told me to call google... I called google, they told me to call Lenovo... hate this thing... the picture on it is awesome for its size, and I like that you can change its voice, it makes a pretty picture screen, and it does look up recipes if it recognizes your voice, I can even watch a video in my google play if it recognizes my voice... I am not sure if I just ended up with a defective one, or it sux… no one will help me... I was going to buy several of these as gifts, but I wanted to try it out first... now I am looking into the facebook portal...

    Great Device - well made

    Just received my smart display from BestBuy and I love it. Besides the Google audio features, we use it to display a recent album of photos I uploaded to Google photos. Colors are vibrant and images are crisp. The device is really well made and shows that Lenovo has brought good design, good engineering and good manufacturing processes together. Hoping that over time, Google will update software and increase functionality, but am already very pleased!

    Network problem....

    At first, I didn't know how I would like this device... though I knew I wanted it. I'm a big fan of Google Assistant and I love digital picture frames. That's pretty much all I use it for at this point. Albums sync with the Google Home app....its wonderful! If you're using it in a bedroom the light sensor knows enough to turn the photos off once the room is dark....works like a charm. Screen is bright and vibrant and the speaker is loud enough for basic Google assistant questions and maybe a podcast hear and there. My main gripe is with the inconsistency of the network connection. This may be able to get fixed with software updates but it happens at least 2-3 times a week. I'll come home and the screen will be blank and just say "Network Problem". I have a strong network. You have to unplug and reboot every time. Annoying. If they bring YouTubeTV to the device I would be SO HAPPY!

      YouTubeTV is supported with an active subscription.There are a few things that could be causing your Smart Display to disconnect from your WiFi network. Here are a few things to try to resolve your problem: We would recommend that you make sure that your modem and router and working correctly by trying another WiFi device. If that works you know the WiFi system is working correctly. Try unplugging your modem and router (unplug them and then plug back in one minute.) If there are multiple devices on your WiFi network at the same time, this can cause disconnection too. If this still does not work, please contact our customer support @ 877-453-6686.. lenovo

    Great Product -- but serious quality/build issues

    I got first one; used it and loved it. It broke while under best buy default warranty. Took it back to store and got a new one. I loved this one as well, but it broke two days after default warranty ran out; fortunately I had a best buy extended warranty. At this point, I asked myself whether it was worth getting another one, which would have cost me another $16 bucks for another extended warranty. I decided it was not worth it; I figured if two of these suckers broke with different problems (on the first the sound went out, and on the second one the screen went out), each within 60 days of unboxing, I figured they have some serious quality control issues. Prior to dying, each of them had great video and picture clarity, as well as fantastic sound. I enjoyed listening to podcasts, watching episodes of 60 Minutes and other Youtube videos. I was disappointed that I couldn't watch my Netflix on it, and I was also disappointed that originating voice calls didn't work (even though the latter works with my Google Mini speakers). But, overall I really liked the product. However, given that there are no children in our house, and that without us ever dropping or spilling anything on it, we had two units break, I just can't recommend it due to build quality. I'll wait until the next generation, and hope for better build quality.

    I love this thing there is nothing so bad about this device A+++ the only thing I don't like is because it is such a new product I definitely want to buy the protection plan which best buy has it on almost everything but not this product so will play with it for 15 Days then will be returning it unless they offer the warranty.

    Great Google Assistant with Camera!

    I debated on getting this Lenova Smart Display, but then I picked up the Google Home Hub. Both of these were on sale for $99. Essentially this is your Google Home but with a video screen. The biggest difference between the Lenova Smart Display and Google Home Hub is the camera. Otherwise, what I really like is the photos that scroll from your google photos. I also like the recipe they provide and the video accompaniment to my news updates. I'm invested in the google ecosystem, so this works perfectly.

    I open up my present early and was thrilled as to how easy it was to setup, however the next morning the screen was blank and failed to respond. I got audio responses but no video. I was impressed with Best Buy ability to exchange it and ship a new one to me. I will give one more chance and if it fails I have two others to return.

    Really helpful day to day

    I have been using this device for a few days now and it's blown my mind. I used to have a simple Google home mini, but this does so much more. The display puts up all the useful information that I need along with the audio. Making calls is also easier as it has a camera so I can make video calls too. The best part is it comes with a shutter so that I can close it and feel safe when it's not in use. 10/10 would recommend!
