Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the 110-15ISK laptop's affordability, ease of use, and performance for everyday tasks. Many appreciate its lightweight design, ample storage, and screen size. While some experienced issues with battery life and the sound quality, the positive feedback on price and usability outweighs these concerns.

Great "hold me over" laptop, but wait for Kaby Lak

This is a great machine who want to put off a full upgrade for a couple of years. Slap 32GB of RAM and an SSD on this machine and it will fly. The battery life could be better and graphic intensive applications are not going to work. It's a bit heavy and bulky. It easily plugs into two external displays, has plenty of ports and the Bluetooth works well with multiple devices. If you're reading this in 2017, wait for the next gen machine which should sport Kaby Lake with vastly improved battery and graphics; you'll be glad you did!

Decent little laptop - good for home or student

Good laptop for school students or moderate home use. For the price paid, it is an excellent value. So far, I find it completely acceptable for working with word docs, excel and powerpoints, watching standard def videos, music, browsing (just nothing extremely media intensive). The 6th Gen CPU i3-6100u is a big improvement over the 5th Gen. 8GB memory. Good enough for daily household use, which is exactly why we bought it.

This Laptop is light, surprisingly quick, has an i3 processor, 4gb ram, 1TB hard drive and a DVD drive as well as a Webcam. I bought 2 for my kids and have had zero issues. The speakers are a bit lacking but certainly acceptable. This is a tremendous value!

Good, but lacks memory and audio quality

Can I upgrade the memory from 4 GB to 8 GB. Is there any additional RAM slots available? Audio Quality is not up to the mark. Apart from these, I think this is a decent purchase for me at 250 USD.

All work on this device must be performed by a certified technician, so as to not void the warranty. The maximum RAM for this system is 8GB, so a certified technician can increase the RAM on this configuration. lenovo

    Disappointed

I was excited to make my 2nd purchase of a Lenovo when I come across this one tonight. The price fit my budget so I bought it. After spending about 3 hours getting all my items situated that was needed, I started tinkering around. As I was searching the net I noticed that the speed is not as fast as the pc I am replacing, much lag while trying to play a youtube video and the sound is terrible!! I was extremely disappointed in the sound. I have also noticed there is a sound that is coming from the fan area on the bottom. It is not loud but not something that I am use to. Not sure if this is just part of the pc or if I have gotten a defected PC. I have had this PC for 4 hours now and already thinking I may have to return it. Not fond of the keyboard set up either as it is MUCH different than any PC I have ever used.

Man this thing is SLOW! It will get the basic jobs done, checking email and web browsing (as long as you don't have too many tabs open). I'd return it if it were up to me, but it is what it is. It's not a bad laptop, it's just not meant for more than a select few basic tasks.

Purchased this computer directly from best buy for my father to replace his 5 year old Toshiba laptop. My father is a very light PC user only using this computer for internet browsing and VLC media player to watch movies, That is it. Its been 87 days since purchase. Here are the PROS: (1) Battery is pretty good lasting an average of 3 hours and 8 minutes on a full charge with the screen brightness turned all the way up. Here are the CONS: (1) Screen brightness is always turned all the way up or one notch from full brightness. If you try to use a lower brightness setting screen is very dim and hard to see text. Laptop would be completely useless in a outdoor direct sunlight environment. (2) In 87 days laptop has frozen up and and completely stopped working during simple web browsing tasks on 2 separate occasions. Attempting restart after lock up took every bit of 9 minutes. On a good day this laptop is still slow taking an average of just over 2 minutes to start up and 1.5 minutes to shut down. To compare I have other PC's 3-4 years older then this laptop that only take 20-30 seconds to start up and shutdown. (3) The speakers are a complete JOKE! The battery is positioned where the speakers should be. Then lenovo had the bright idea to put the speakers under the front of the laptop sort of firing downward. Speakers are hard to hear even when turned up and sound very tinny. (4) Its a small issues but I am never a fan of computers with non removable batteries like this laptop. I looked all over and see no release for the battery. CONCLUSION: My fathers 5 year old toshiba laptop runs WAY better then this brand new lenovo. I am 100% disappointed with the performance of this computer. I will be calling lenovo warranty support first thing in the morning to see about sending this laptop in for some sort of repair.

This device obviously should not be freezing up. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Regarding the audio on this device, here is a link to an article with tips for increasing the volume of your speakers on a Windows laptop:
https://www.itechtics.com/increase-maximum-volume-windows-8/. The battery is replaceable only by a certified technician, so as to not void the warranty. lenovo

    Only if $250 is your absolute limit . . . .

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Sometimes you get what you pay for - and that's exactly the case here. It's a $250 computer (on sale) and it is a computer - not a chromebook or tablet. It actually accepts and runs software programs. And it surfs the web in a decent fashion. Not fast but not horribly slow either. Speakers are weak and tinny sounding. Keyboard is fine. Screen is average. Everything about it is completely average, except for the terrible speakers. So for the price, it's a fair deal. But if you can afford a little more, you'll probably find a stronger, better computer --

    Junk laptop!!!!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My wife and I were looking for a new laptop as our Dell went "black screen" on us and was just too expensive to replace with the same model ($850.00)+! So we decided to purchase the Lenovo Ideapad 110 ($330.00+). It worked GREAT for all of 12 day's! I tried to turn it on in the morning when I got up, NOTHING!!!, not even a flash. It was fully charged (been charging all night! I tried several times to get it to power up but no luck. Also, you cannot remove the battery to even try a hard boot! Maybe I got the one exception because when it was working, it worked GREAT!!! All I know now is I lost about 200 family photo's and a Norton subscription ($80.+). BestBuy told me for only $35-50 they could "try" and recover my pics but I'm out the Norton software no matter what and there would be no guarantee they could recover my pics either but it would still cost me the tech charge!!!!!!! I was able to recover my Dell with the help of my Niece so I think I'll just wait until it dies completely before I buy another laptop and NOT likely at BB. I would warn anyone who buy's a laptop in the $300-400 range, DON'T download any personal or other pro. that cost YOU until you've had it at least a month!!!!!!!!!

Best Buy Customer Service: Great; This Laptop:Ugh

Sound - I didn't think this kind of sound quality existed in this decade. The sound is so bad it's like listening to a tiny portable radio you won at a county fair in 1982. The only thing missing is static. Smartphones are superior in sound quality. If you like streaming Netflix without subtitles, expect to purchase a supplemental speaker. Keyboard - It's funky. I've hit the numbers lock key in my quest for backspace more often than I care to admit. Coud be just me getting accustomed to the numbers pad. Speed - Pretty much that of elementary school children being asked to run a mile. I actually think this laptop is silently complaining, "Do I have to? But that's so far! I'm tired!" It's still working on downloading Office as I write. I presume Flintstone technology is responsible for this as some overworked prehistoric micro pelican slowly pushes the processes along. I'm not sure how anyone could be satisfied with this device. Who on earth only uses a computer to read email and browse the web? I can tell you who: the generation who will accept without question advice to purchase a $1200 model. My mom would think I'm being way too picky if she sat down with this. If you're opening multiple tabs as you sink down the Internet rabbit hole with Netflix and Messenger on in the background, this isn't for you. A Macafee update alone brings the entire system back to 1998; those good old days we in Gen X like to refer to as "when it took web pages 15 minutes to load." This thing is brought to its knees until it finishes its updates. At most I'll give it a 2 as something reasonable enough for a child to use for homework. Or maybe even just for my mom. The sound thing alone would insult a small child. Best Buy's return policy has dramatically improved since I last shopped there, and this is going back. I'm giving a huge thumbs up to both that, and the guy at the Minnetonka, MN location who tried to gently encourage different options as I stood in the aisle paralyzed by analysis paralysis. I let the cost make my decision for me, and now that I've used it I would say a reasonable price is about $80.

I mainly got this guy for the 1 TB of memory but I feel like if I focused on getting one with maybe and i5 and 8GB of RAM it would be more sufficient for my needs. Overall it is pretty decent but it can be slow a lot of the time and since I use a virtual machine on it, it doesn't have enough power to really supply the machine and do other things. It is either run the VM software or work on the word document for my assignment, even though I need both open.

Bought this on Black Friday, brought it home and it wouldn't boot up at all. Returned to store and they gave me another, which came up fine. The keyboard layout is terrible, and I did download a keyboard mapping app to correct, but that is annoying to have to do that to a brand new laptop. Also, as stated by others, the sound is terrible. First time with a Lenovo product for me; I kept it and I'm using it, but it may be the last one for me.
