To maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery:

I was looking for a computer that was low cost, but would give me the ability to surf the net and email. Unfortunately, the computer is extremely slow, choppy at best, and very slow working through pages of spreadsheets. As for the memory, I hadn't realized my photos alone have used 80% of the space. I should have asked more questions.
