Might be good for basic stuff

A solid state drive and some additional memory would really improve performance. Despite what some people would tell you, these tasks can be performed by a non expert. I chose to trade it in for something with a slightly more powerful processor and more memory though.

I had to do a factory reset in the first 2 hours of having it. Lots of Microsoft account and Lenovo popups. Slower than my last computer with the same specs. Regularly encounters problems and reboots itself.

Waste of money

That's all I wanted. This laptop fails at even that. Start up time is longer than 8 year old Acer laptop I'd bought at Walmart. Response time when browsing the internet is horrible, plus it doesn't show you if it's loading a page so you are left to wonder if your click registered or not. Therefore you either click again, only to then see that your first click did register so now you clicked through 2 web pages and have to go back, or you keep waiting and nothing happens so you finally click again. Best Buy offer also included 6 months antivirus which I installed but that does not stop the laptop from popping up a McAfee box every 5 minutes saying protection is out of date. You can't just click this away, rather you have to accept, then decline the download, otherwise the pop up covers your entire lower right quadrant t of the screen. Wish I had tried this out within the return period, but I had the kids wrap it for me as their Christmas present to me and Best Buy said I was too late for returns, despite what I thought their holdiay season return policy was. Couldn't be more disappointed. Feel like I wasted a couple hundred bucks on junk.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 130-15 laptop should boot up from off to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40 seconds. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

But it was ok for the price and first couple of days of school.

Nice size screen and seems well put together, but very slow. Takes a long time to load and opening programs (simple things like Chrome, Word, etc.) In hindsight I wished I paid a little more for a faster computer.
