great laptop for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this to run my 3D printer from and also to do some simple CAD programs. it works great for this. It can hang / be slow when trying to use more complex CAD packages like Fusion 360. I believe more RAM would solve this problem. and I'll probably look into adding some.

Good for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked one of these up this weekend because my Chromebook keeps failing and needing the OS restored and that has gotten annoying. So I started looking for another cheap option. Found this laptop on sale for $199.00 and jumped on it. It came right up, didn't have a bunch of bloatware installed, no issues at all. The only thing I have noticed is it is kind of slow. Not excruciatingly so, but noticeable. When clicking on URLs it takes longer to bring up the page than most machines I'm used to. BUT, this is my first Windows 10 machine, so it could be that, or it could be with the virus protection that is installed. It is still too early for me to track down. I thought once it cached some pages it would speed up, but really didn't. All that being said though, I got a Windows based laptop with a 15.6" monitor and 500GB HD for under $200!! I'll take that deal any day of the week and would recommend it to anyone else when it's on sale for that price again.

Posted .Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

Too many issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop about a year ago. I seem to remember it locked up when I was first used it, right out of the box. I wasn't impressed. Then I noticed the CPU running at 100% quite bit using task manager. Thus the reason it was locking up. I am a very light user; not a gamer at all. I still have to almost constantly watch my CPU usage. It runs very hot a lot of the time. It is my assumption the computer architecture isn't quite right but I am not an engineer. Then I have to deal with the Lenovo Solution Center and other Lenovo stuff interrupting my computer time which is very annoying. It still does this but not as much as I tweaked it as best I could. I would love to uninstall some of this stuff but I am not sure what would happen if I did, I am not impressed with how invasive Lenovo is at the most inopportune times. It would be a good Laptop for the money if they resolved these issues.

Posted .It sounds like you have software compatibility issues or there are update your system needs. This probably is what the Lenovo Solution Center is alerting you to. Be sure any software you have installed is compatible with Windows 10. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. HORRIBLE NON FUNCTIONAL
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my mother for basic internet searches and email. Updating took over 12 hours on a 20mbs internet service. After updating the computer was basically the worst pc I have ever been on. Tried to find the bloatware AND lookup online how to identify and easily remove it - but you cant look online and have a folder open. System freezes. Try to type in google search bar...cant do that either. Shut everything down, still can't type in search bar without intermittent activity. delete MacAfee - a slight improvement. but still horrible e.g. a 5-second delay between mouse click and action. A tablet is FAR BETTER than this. I am taking it back to Best Buy.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you have had difficulty updating the Windows 10 operating system on your Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15 laptop. It sounds like there was a problem with the update process. You may want to try restoring the device back to factory settings. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the power plug port on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files.

It's not good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You honestly don't even get what you pay for. Yes it's cheap, but it's slow, loading up microsoft and the internet is slow, it's not comfortable on your lap, the speakers are very, very low, and it wasn't worth even the low price I paid for it. I had a lenovo ideapad before and that was great until it broke so I stuck with Lenovo but this one just isn't good. I would still recommend Lenovo, but maybe one of the better models, even if it costs a little bit more, it'll be worth it.

If I could give it a zero, I would!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is terrible! It won't even load after three months of use and is currently stuck on the black screen of death. I contacted Lenovo since it is still under warranty and they wanted me to pay $34 for shipping to have it repaired! I have had other products repaired and have never paid shipping while under warranty. The customer service is terrible and they are not even helpful. The answer to every question is that their customer service agents are available 24/7. They may be available, but they are not helpful or knowledgeable. The agent kept telling me to push a button on my computer that isn't even there! 'Sigh' Save yourself the hassle--buy something else!

Not very good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the time I first booted this computer up I knew there were problems. It took so long. Now after only 4 days it has frozen up every time I use it. Also, just try to get any sound from a website on the speakers and that won't happen. Totally unacceptable. I realize it was inexpensive but come on why burn money if you don't have to? I will return this today. I wonder if it's Windows? Probably, I will try just a Google Chrome computer instead.

So far, so good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just received this laptop. So far, it seems to be a good laptop for the price. The ONLY complaint I have is the right Shift key is in an odd place and I keep missing it when I am typing and instead hit the PgUp key, it's frustrating. Not sure why they made the keyboard that way, but oh well, something I'll have to get used to, I guess.

Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

Definitely would not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly wish I had never purchased this computer. It had good reviews and the sales associates at best buy recommended it, but honestly it has been horrible since I purchased it. It's SLOW, and I mean ridiculously slow. I don't have anything on it other than standard microsoft programs and photoshop for photo edits. I don't save my files on my computer other than school documents for a short while until I save them in my google documents. Even with that, it is slow to start, slow to shut down and opening programs takes ages. You're looking at a minimum of 3+ minutes just to get the computer started up completely so that you can open programs. You can't have too many windows open, or it wants to freeze up constantly. All in all, I would not recommend purchasing this computer. Don't skimp out, just go with something, anything else.

Posted .This is an entry level system. Be sure all programs you have installed are compatible with this system's AMD A6 processor and 4GB of RAM. There is a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 included as part of the Windows 10 operating system. In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software. If you have installed Microsoft Office programs to this device there may be a conflict with the Microsoft Office software already installed which is slowing down the device.

Do not buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the most affordable laptop with a real hard drive. Never have had a Lenovo or AMD processor but I just need one for email, youtube, facebook and twitter. No streaming. When I first turn it on it works fine but if I walk away for an hour or two, when I come back it is frozen. The start button is inactive and browser is frozen. Sent it to Lenovo after a week. Now it's back and doing the same thing. I even reinstall windows per their support beforehand. This is the worst computer ever. I'm using my 7 year old Dell most of the time. So you know this review is real my Lenovo repair number is 7025964044, purchased on Nicholasville rd in Lexington, KY.

Less than basic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for nearly two weeks and I'm probably going to take it back. I realize (and the Lenovo support team seems to keep emphasizing in their responses) that it's supposed to be a basic laptop. However, I would expect basic to be just that, basic. This is less than basic almost to the point of dysfunctional. The processing and Internet are so slow that it takes sometimes up to 30 seconds for me to switch between programs and it takes several minutes for the machine to "wake up." The keyboard is stiff and it often takes several attempts to get the keys to work, especially the enter key. A basic laptop should not make the user's hands sore after using it! The mouse is also a problem. Sometimes it stops tracking completely (the pointer even disappears) and then sometimes it will start dragging then spinning wildly out of control. I've tried to reinstall drivers and I've restarted the machine and I've adjusted the settings. I'm curious about what others have said about the price. They keep referring this as a $200 laptop but it was priced at nearly $280. To me, that's nearly $300 not just over $200. So far it has not been worth the money at all.

Sloooww and disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was just looking for a laptop to research online and use Excel, Word, etc. I bought this instead of a chrome book because I wanted access to Microsoft programs and this computer came with a 1 year subscription. However, Microsoft would not recognize my free subscription so I could not access Excel, etc. I tried some work arounds that the apps prompted, but to no avail. I’m sure there’s a work around, but it was really frustrating. Surfing the web is painfully slow, and so is turning on the computer. I only used this laptop 3 times before packing it back up. I’m going to exchange it for a chrome book. Also, the display is kinda hazy and not sharp, which doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it felt like I was computing in 2003. I also do not like the track pad. Look elsewhere. I’m really surprised by the raving reviews which is a big reason why I bought this.

Worst thing out there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this online through Best Buy it had a good review, there were so many, and at 280$ not a bad price. However as soon as it showed up 3 days later I was greeted with problems. 1. This laptop doesn’t come with any decent upgrades for windows 10. I’m still waiting for them to finish it’s over 23hrs and I still haven’t used it yet 2. as far as I can see the mouse doesn’t want to work, strangely enough before starting the blue screen updates it was working now it isn’t, even though it says I can dismiss the blue screen so I can start using laptop, I can’t it has no function at all. I’ve put in a ticket to return the defective laptop and hopefully will find something that ain’t a Lenovo!

Stay away - bad keyboard design & serious lag time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased this laptop, and I'm getting ready to return it. 1) The lag time is wayyyy longer than the older laptop it was to replace. I checked reviews, and I talked with the sales staff before purchase. I was assured that this computer would be faster. It's constantly lagging. How can it be lagging more than the older (and cheaper) laptop it was replacing? 2) Lenovo has redesigned the placement of keys on the QUERTY keyboard. The location where the RIGHT SHIFT key *should* be located has been replaced by the PAGE UP key. Why on earth would they do this? If you like to hunt and peck your way through typing, it will be fine. It may not look like a huge deal, but if you know how to type, but if you actually know how to type, you won't have time for that nonsense. I found a solution online via freeware to switch the keys, but the shape of the key still isn't right. 3) The touchpad has a very strange feel to it. The touchpad buttons do not activate unless you hit them exactly in the right spot. The button are about 1 1/2" wide, but the only part that actually works is the right 1/3 of the button. The click buttons, the touchpad, and the surface of the laptop are almost completely flush. Sure, that looks great, but for practical purposes, you can't find the buttons. It took me several minutes to figure out why it just feels wrong. I guess you could apply some sort of washi tape to the touchpad buttons, but why should you need to do that? It's not really something that you just "need to get used to." For these reasons, the laptop is just very disappointing. It's going back to the store.
