I still use this laptop for everything. A little above essential makes it worth the purchase.

I got this just for my job and the programs that needed to be loaded on it and thought that would be all I would use it for..... I now have put away my old desktop and use this for everything now.

Purchased for my daughter. She uses it for both research and games. She loves it.

I have nothing but trouble with my computer. It freezes if you stay on one site to long. It is not as fast as the sales man told me it would be. I brought it back to have it looked at and they said they fixed it but it is still not working right.

Do not recommend. We did remove the Superfish virus via the link provided by Lenovo. The Computer crashed. Only had it for a week. Had to return. Do not recommend Product.

I bought a Geek Squad Certified open box version of this PC. Worked fine for the first few days, but then the mouse pad started freezing and working improperly. I had to return it to the store and get my money back.

this is my first computer purchase. The next purchase will not be Lenovo. The sales person left out details regarding "the geek squad" I had to learn the hard way. Your support team is great!!!!!

I bought this for my husband, who uses a lot of hard drive space and RAM. I was thrilled with the space and speed for the price ($349), and he's thrilled with the computer. It lost a star because it came with a lot of programs that are not only unnecessary, but rank right up there as spyware--one even ranks just below virus level. It's frustrating to get rid of these things on a brand new computer. I don't know how much of that is Windows 8.1, or how much of it is Lenovo. I would still recommend it. It's a bargain, it's fast, and if you know the programs are there, you can easily get rid of them.

Look and feel was great but crashed after a week. Windows 8 seems more vulnerable to viruses.

I caught this laptop on sale for $299. Very good deal at this price, slim well made and a sharp display. Plenty of RAM and HD space. Cannot go wrong at this price!

My laptop is in a lawsuit over having adware already on the computer.

Best Buy staff not helpful enough regarding this issue

Due to recent news about Lenovo installing malware, I installed a new version of Windows 8.1 on this laptop. Unlike my Dell laptop, Windows can't detect most of the hardware on this machine. Wireless not working out of the box, brightness control not working, camera not working, etc. I tried to download the drivers from Lenovo website, but the wireless driver is not there. This laptop comes with Realtek wireless RTL8723BE, but the drivers on the Lenovo website are only for Atheros, and Broadcom for Windows 8 x64. I installed the driver from another Lenovo laptop series, and it is working now. I don't know what will happen when Windows 10 comes out. Will it still provide drivers for Windows 10? It is a decent laptop with a great price. But the hardware compatibility might be a problem in the future. If you are planning to upgrade to Windows 10, I won't recommend this one. 2/20/2015.

I bought this laptop online as an open box item. I have a MacBook Air but needed a new PC for software that my Mac can't run. When my old PC broke, I wanted to get a new one that would have a lot of hard drive space and sufficient RAM. I also wanted a disc drive but was okay not having one. This laptop came with everything I needed for a good price. The screen is fairly big which doesn't bother me since this laptop stays home. The keyboard is smooth and the body work nice. I just wish it had a backlit keyboard as my Mac does. I also don't use the trackpad because I've gotten used to my Mac one and the PC one isn't as accurate. Instead I use a wireless mouse. It runs great and so far I haven't had problems with it. I've had another Lenovo laptop before and that one was pretty good too. That one was pre Mac though.

Never lived up to expectations. Slowed down quickly over first year.

I don't blame the computer for the software that it came with. I've removed all the software I don't want. Startup is a bit on the slow side. I attribute that to the 5400 rpm hard drive. At some point in the future I plan to replace that with an SSD - and expect much better start up times. After your in, the computer is very responsive with no really unexpected waiting for anything. I paid $300, including one year free Microsoft Office 365 Personal ($70? normally). I think I got an excellent product at an excellent price.

I bought this computer for school and to try to play games. And so far I'm super happy. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars is because the screen flickers here and there and kinda bugs me. But it meets minimum requirement for gmod mine craft which are the two games I wanted to play! It's great! And at a price that is great as well.

I bought this laptop for the listed price of $349.....when I got to BB to pick it up I was pleasantly surprised that the price had been lowered to $299 !! For the price you pay, you get a huge hard drive, 8 gigs of memory and a decent processor. This laptop fits the bill for my wife, her desktop had died...she mainly uses it for online and making cards.....so it is more than she will ever need. A word about the SUPERFISH deal.....the day after I had ordered this the story broke widely in the media.....I had second thoughts....almost canceled the order. But the value - price ratio was enough to make me stay with the Lenovo. There are plenty of place that tell you how to get rid of this program....my son (he's good with computers) sat down with the laptop for ten minutes and removed the Superfish and all pre-loaded bloatware. Once that was done...this little gem hummed along. We've had it for three weeks, no issues. BTW....this laptop has the best keyboard ever on a laptop.....love it.

Ordered this computer to perform basic accounting, inventory, & emailing for my small business. So far, I can't complain at all. The price is unbeatable for the storage capacity and RAM offered on this computer, as well as the other great extras that come with it. The large screen & full keyboard are awesome! I am an everyday MAC user, however, I just wanted a PC to run basic small business functions. This computer is great and I highly recommend it to others! Great starter computer for basic functions! I would not recommend downloading random files on this computer or using this computer as an everyday social media/ internet browsing type of computer. You're likely to catch a virus and have the computer crash or something of that sort if you use it in that manner. You get what you pay for!
