The product seems ok, but it was an open box item. The 's' key sticks and is quite annoying since I use it for typing research papers. It is hit or miss when I hit save afyer typing a document. The wifi connection to my printer worked at first, but now it can't find it. It is inconvenient since i have to print using a USB cable.

Pros: Bought the product on sale on Cyber Monday for $269 (plus tax). This is my first Lenovo product as I have typically bought Dell, and my first experience with Windows 10. Primary use will be Microsoft office and web browsing. Boot time is relatively quick. Standard Lenovo setup went well. Hardware capability is very good for the price (i.e. Intel i3 CPU, 4 GB DDR, USB 3.0, Bluetooth, WiFi, 1.0 TB HD, DVD R/W, HDMI, VGA, etc). Cons: Had some problems with the Lenovo PC diagonostic utilities (at startup) after I tried to uninstall McAfee LiveSafe software using Windows 10 "Programs and Features" utility. It looks like Windows 10 does not do a complete uninstall that causes problems for the Lenovo PC diagnostics (that run at boot time), resulting in Windows 10 not being able to start. Called Lenovo tech support but they were of no real help. Ended up using System Restore to reset the factory settings and left McAfee alone. Online forums indicate that to remove McAfee you need to use the McAfee "uninstall utility". I will try that in the future, or pay for the McAfee subscription after the 30-day trial. Finally, the right "shift key" is a bit smaller than standard keyboards, making it a bit difficult to hit at times. Other than the McAfee removal issue, I have had no issues with the product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a 15.6 inch laptop. Learning my way around Windows 10 now. Hope this helps others.

Trying to be a Mobile Device

    Posted .

The computer is okay I guess, but it's slow slow slow. Others have commented it's the bloatware that makes it that way, and I will say it has a ton of useless unwanted stuff on it. I tried running a program to identify bloatware so I could remove it, but it didn't work out. I'm having a little trouble with the keyboard. Maybe I'll get used to that. Windows 10 is new to me and a pain in the behind. I think it's trying to be too much like a Mobile device. If I want that, I'll go to my cell phone or my notebook. I guess I need to find some expert help because I hate even turning it on at this point, it's so frustrating waiting waiting, and trying to find the thing I want, then waiting waiting. Why should I have to wait 10 seconds for it to open each email I click on???

This was my first Lenovo purchase. It will also be my last. A week ago I lost all Network Connections. Support suggested doing a PC Reset. I did that; still no network connections available. Then my right hinge broke. Support said there is no history of this problem on this model. But there is history on other models. They would not cover the repair. Worthless product; worthless support. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

I updated my laptop to a computer running Windows 10. Lenovo fit the move to Win 10 perfectly. Very easy to set up and use. The price was right also. Lenovo 15.6 with the Intel i3 runs great and loaded with features. I strongly recommend this computer for everyday work, such as, Emails, surfing the web,and facebook, etc.

    Perfect for Work or School!!

I got this computer strictly for school and it has exceeded my expectations as well as my preferences. It's a large screen yet so light weight and doesn't get that hot. It has a small battery yet can last at least 4 hours on a full charge. It plays DVDs with great quality plus you can write onto blank DVDs b/c it has a DVD-RW drive. It has a large HDD at 1TB, which is more than enough room for school work or anything similar. Most laptops have 500 GB or less so finding a 1TB is rare. The best part is that it already comes with Windows 10. Lenovo also asks if you want to set up a pin, which is more secure than a password as it is unique to the laptop so hackers can't get into your PC. If you need a laptop for school, work, or anything else that is light duty then this laptop will be the perfect addition.

I have to say that this particular computer was by far the worst purchase I have made in a long time. I ended up bringing it back due to too many problems to list. I would not recommend this product to anyone with a pulse.

    Good for the basics

I purchased this computer yesterday and so far I have no complaints. I previously owned a Lenovo Ideapad P400 so it has been an adjustment from having a touch screen and a backlit keyboard. Although this computer on has 4gb Ram, it has been able to download multiple programs at once and run fairly smoothly. If you could spring for a model with better specs it is totally worth it but this model is good for basic computing. It does have a 1 TB hard drive which is good though.

It's a very fairly priced budget laptop. Windows 10 runs well without having to upgrade from Windows 8.1 or whatnot. Good: dolby audio sounds better than my desktop; fit and finish (the metal near the keyboard is great); windows 10 home; processor speed is surprisingly above-average for a budget laptop; price. Decent: bootup speed is decent for the o/s installed on a 1TB HDD Bad: maybe 8 GB of RAM should be standard? its not really meant for a ton of programs or a ton of browser tabs all at once.

This laptop has a good performance. I little bit heavy but still portable. The screen looks nice. It doesn't have a touch screen. Please note that at the first boots it will take longer to start, it seems that it need to setting up everything. After a few reboots, the laptop will start quick and everything will be running smoothly.

I bought this when my 5 year old lappy died, and this one found its way into my life. Its not too heavy (and i HATE heavy computers DELL) and smooth. Runs pretty quickly even after all the downloading and multiple windows i keep running. I accidentally grabbed this thing wrong a thousand times and the monitor nearly unhinged but luckily its still in one piece. Got a couple of busted keys but nothing i cant handle with care. I love this thing a lot.

Battery life is not that long, memory is low, processor is toward the lower end of the Core i series, and the screen resolution is only fair. All that said, the build quality seems better than some reviews may indicate. The price of the machine is very competitive given the Core i3 instead of a an Atom or Celeron processors. If your intent is limited to web browsing and the use of MS Office suite then this machine should be ample.
