The laptop Specs are fantastic, but the screen blinks alot. So ask geek squad to check on that before buying this laptop.

We got this for my daughter to work on video editing. It had be wonderful and working well. The dedicated HD space for the O/S definitely enhances it.

Very simple and fast set up. Includes numerous apps such as Hulu, Netflix etc. Excellent picture quality for the price

Computer wouldn't stay connected to the internet. It was already returned to the store and supposedly had been checked out and wasn't suppose to have problems.

I bought this on the recommendation of the agent. Several issues with it and then it totally deleted it's own hard drive!

Great performance, I upgraded the hard drive to a SSD and it is fast. Easy to upgrade the hard drive and RAM. Handles all of my games at high quality with no issues. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that when it is plugged in the screen flickers, has something to do with the battery. I updated the bios and it fixed most of the issues but still a little flickering. Great price for the quality of laptop. Battery life is short, understandable for a gaming laptop.

The screen flashes and twinkles. Completely flawed

First of all, sorry for my English. This laptop is really amazing, despite is somehow heavy (7.48) and may cause troubles to carry due to its size. Offers good performance over other ones in the same range (considering you buy it on sale price). I bought it just a few dollars less than shown, due to an offer for students, so I suggest if you are an student, try to obtain the same discount. I mean, $100 it is something. I have not really made the most of it, because actually I am in summer research activities at my university. Just to mention, in other countries you will find the same Y70 for at least $1500 and no less, but with an 860M, instead of the 960M.

The specs in theory are great. Except that it’s horribly optimized and the screen flickers nonstop.

Let me start by saying that this is a great amount of hardware for the money. The screen is AWESOME!!! The sound is by far the best I have ever had on a laptop. These JBL speakers are just amazing. Note if you are buying this for gaming you have to go into the Nvidia control panel. Go to the Manage 3D settings, and select the Nvidia GPU for the Global settings, or it will lag out horribly. I can play Killing Floor 2 with the settings on high and there is very minimal lag. It will not perform with the Nvidia Gibs and Fluids effects on. I have an MSI Apache Pro with the GTX 870 and the I7 4710 HQ and it plays on Ultra with Gibs and Fluids with no lag what so ever! The Hyrbrid drive makes for a very quick start up. I love these Hybrid drives, just make sure you download everything to the 1 TB drive. BAD- The fan is located on the bottom of the computer so you cannot set it on your lap or a bed or pillow. I almost fried it the first night by playing a game with it sitting on my bed. Just very stupid design. The casing is cheap and flimsy also. Don't drop this bad boy or you are in trouble. Be carefull because the case will actually bend where you rest your hand to use the wasd keys to game it up. I use a controller. It also only has 2 USB 3,0 which is a down side. All in all this is a great buy for the money. You wont get to play new games on Ultra but high is good. The screen is so impressive it won't matter. Games on this PC with the settings on high look better than the games on my MSI with the settings on Ultra because of the screen. Combine that with the Amazing sound, you will not be unsatisfied. I got mine on open box for $780.00.. It will also run Visual Studio and Adobe Illustrator with no problem. Hyper V can also be enabled for the Windows Phone SDK emulation.

Great for Gaming, flies though World Of Tanks, Very smooth running, Very easy to upgrade to Windows 10, Only 1 hour, Work Great with Xbox One, Play Games with Xbox One and Windows 10, Wonderful Graphics, and Great Sound WOW, Watch Movies on This Thing, again WOW, and it does have a external DVD, and Backlit Keyboard. Lenovo OH Yea !!!

The Lenovo Y70 is superb ESPECIALLY for its asking price. I originally brought this laptop for College (Computer Science Major so that means I love to program and game). This Laptop does all of that with flying colors. I haven't had any heating issues, Graphics run smoothly, even on ultra settings (Depends on the game), compiles code really fast and efficiently, I really have no upsets with this. If you want to get into gaming, this product will last you as long as you want it to. I 100% recommend the Lenovo Y70! It needs to get more praise than it does.

From initial setup there was noticeable screen flicker. Then it went away, then it came back. It was intermittent during the first couple weeks, and I spent hours online researching the problem. There are plenty of other people that had the same problem, and a long thread on Lenovo's forum about it. I'm lucky it happened out of the box, others were not and it happened when it was out of warranty. The machine is a beast...outstanding performance. Very fast, brilliant screen. The keyboard is too small, however, and will take getting used to and a lot of corrections (especially the 10-key). I wanted it to work and spent a lot of time trying to find a solution to the screen flicker. I returned it and opted for the somewhat comparable HP Envy touch. Unfortunately, while the HP is not a bad machine, the Lenovo makes it look weak. Be warned if you purchase this...look out for screen flicker!

Machine has been excellent since my purchase 60 days or so ago. Only issue I have had with it is finding a backpack that fits it that I like.
