It has been freezing on updates

This has caused this PC to lock up when it restarts or when we start it next time. We have had to do a hard restart up to 3 times and wait several days before we can get it to power up correctly. It freezes with a black and white screen with a bunch or words and status saying complete.

With regard to the issues you are having with automatic Windows updates, it sounds like you have turned off the automatic updates and that is goods. Now, before you allow the update to occur, you need to create a restore point on your system. This way, if there is a problem with the update, you can revert back to the previous point before the update, when your computer was working properly. This is easier and quicker than doing a factory reset every time there is a problem with an update. To create a restore point, click on the magnifying glass icon in the lower left of your screen. Type "restore", then click on "create a restore point". Click "configure" to set up restore point settings. Once this is done, click "apply". Then click "create". Name the restore point so you can find it. Click "create".

good quality laptop

First, the screen is not Full HD, the onboard camera is not that great, the video quality is mediocre at best.. It is a tad too grainy, for my liking. The touchpad is hit or miss, it took me several clicks, sometimes to get it to engage. It's ok, if you're new to laptops and don't want/need anything too fancy. I returned it and got a Dell Inspiron 17 (7778) and I am now much happier.

Orbi Wireless Signal Strength

Great starter laptop for College students
