Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the 300-17ISK laptop's large screen size, performance, and reasonable price. Many appreciate its ease of use and sufficient memory and storage. While some users noted minor issues with pre-installed software and aspects of the design, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the negative.

Overall, great value. Weird laptop edge.

Replacement for failed Compaq. Set up was fast and easy, even with installing all the required updates (which you will want to do). The keyboard feels a little spongy but I think I just need to adjust to a different keyboard. I love the 17" display. I was a little concerned about the weight, but it is fine; however, I do not travel frequently with laptop in tow. Those that do would want to consider a less bulky computer. I only rated this a 4 due to the weird edge that a prior reviewer mentioned. The seam between the case and the plate around the keyboard is not smooth. It definitely leaves a mark where my arm sits while I type and I can feel that edge scraping on my arm/hand when I shift to the touchpad. If you google "sharp edge on MacBook" you will see the exact problem. This is not a deal breaker for me, but it is bothersome. I may end up covering it with electrical tape, but it is not something I should have to do.

What I thought was a defect in one unit turns out to be an design flaw with this model that I have not noticed with other Lenovo products. When typing or sliding your hands down from typing, where your wrist rest on the case, the bottom portion of the case comes up a little high causing a lip. It is uncomfortable and gives a sensation of being cut, if it was only sharp. It is too noticeable to be overlook.
