Slow like all others
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spent a full day doing updates, came with none installed. It is sooooo sloooooow, you click and wait and wait. Specs look good but don't be fooled.

Great Laptop for the $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great deal on an Intel i5 and 8GB RAM (DDR4). $399.00 The laptop is well made and made out of premium material. The Laptop is fast to boot up and handles applications well. This computer looks like a $700 to $800 Laptop for fraction of the cost.

Great laptop, with a bonus?!?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the latest i5 processor and 8 gigs of ram, this laptop is a great bargain. It also has Bluetooth and an hdmi port which were must haves for me. The Best Buy description says that this does not have a DVD/CD drive, but it does. Bonus!

A good bargain!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dad bought this for me for the holidays and to start my new life as a freelancer. I've had it just a couple days and have not yet done and heavy duty work on it. But as I'm typing, I have 14 tabs open on Google Chrome, and Spotify and Netflix running, and everything is working fine. It's a zippy computer, although I was nervous about the lack of solid state drive, so I bought a terabyte one to put in it in a few days. It's a large machine, but it's thin and light, and it just barely fits snugly into my Herschel backpack's laptop compartment. I will agree with other reviewers about the viewing angle on the screen: it is a nice screen, but bend it just a bit too far back or forward and the image isn't great. The keyboard, I don't understand the big gripe there. The keys are not "squishy" -- in my view, they are keys you find on any modern laptop these days. The shift key and arrows are, yes, awkwardly placed on the right hand. But I seem to have grown up and been accustomed to using my left hand, so this has not yet been any kind of issue for me. If you use your right hand to push shift, I might recommend NOT buying this machine, or as Lenovo replied in an earlier review, installing a keyboard reassignment tool to reassign the up arrow to be a shift key. My biggest gripe honestly is the mouse. The touch pad is not very responsive for things like scrolling and tapping, and the click buttons I similarly must press hard to get a reaction. I don't know if this can be adjusted in Windows, but I assume so. Overall however, I'd recommend this machine. It's inexpensive and right now reliable and fast! I'll update this later if it stops being so.

Great Buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop is lightning fast! With an Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, the second I saw this laptop I knew I had to go out and buy it that weekend. For the price of $399, newest process, and DDR4 RAM you CANNOT find a better deal. I would highly recommend. The setup process (updates) does take quite awhile, but that is not a biggie, more an annoyance. Couple things that sorta bother me: 1) track pad "clicks" are a little loud 2) charger doesn't look like a regular laptop charger (its all one peice, with a square block that plugs into wall). I would HIGHLY recommend this laptop for someone who does light-medium computing tasks!

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 310-15. With regard to the two "callouts" you made, the clicking of the touchpad and the design of the AC charger, we will look in to this for future improvements.

Display quality is inferior
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, since I got this laptop from Bestbuy through a friend who was visiting US, it won't show as verified purchase. Just FYI It is a decent laptop, but have drawbacks that can affect your decision if you are going to purchase this one. 1) Display: The display is inferior. The resolution is only 1366x768 which affects a lot, but in addition to that, the brightness/contrast is not that great. Very often, if you are viewing at an angle that is not straight, you won't see anything on the screen. 2) The boot time is unbelievably long. I do not know what is the real reason. Even the fast startup is turned on. I did disk defragmentation which has improved it a bit, but still it is long. For the price, I still will recommend this one, but if you can afford a product which has HD display 1920x1080, go for it.

Posted .This system should be a fast system with its Core I-5 processor and 8GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors has occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading many reviews I thought I had purchased the best computer for my college bound daughter. As it turned out, the touch pad became unresponsive, and the laptop made strange music sounds while she was on Microsoft word! (She never listened to music on her laptop) Also, there was a pixel problem on the home screen right out of the box! I think we bought a lemon. Returned it and purchased a different brand with more features at a lower price!

very good quality overall but see full review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First the bad: the keyboard is driving me crazy. The right side "shift key" is one key further away than standard keyboards. In its usual place is a "page up" key. I will be returning this and purchasing a different brand. In store, I did not notice this difference and chose this over a similar HP, which seemed to be of lower quality. Online, you can't see the keyboard. The good: if you can get past the keyboard issue, it's a great buy.

Posted .With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

Everything boils down to the keyboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen is eh, the build quality feels cheap, but most importantly the keyboard is awful. Not only is it soft and mushy, with roudish keys, but physical key layout is also a nightmare for anyone who knows how to type. I included some pictures so you could see what I'm talking about. The qwerty row is pushed left about 6mm, just enough to cause you to type ! instead of @ when you're typing emails, and to hit the wrong numbers on the numbers row. For some strange reason, Lenovo decided to make the tab key just small enough to move the qwerty row left, for no obvious reason. I'm the IT director of a small business, and we purchase laptops weekly, and I will never consider another Lenovo, at least without verifying that the keyboard is symmetrical first. I would love to know the reasoning behind this decision. If I had the time, I would have returned it, but the laptop has to be shipped to California in the morning. If you're considering purchasing this laptop, make sure this is something you can live with.

How to get the 6 months Kaspersky Internet securi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good so far. Does anybody know how to get Kaspersky Internet Security - 3-Device - 6 Months? Thanks
I would recommend this to a friendBrand response from Lenovo Product Expert
Posted .You should have received a Kaspersky disk from Best Buy. If you didn't, check with the store you made the purchase at with your receipt. If you purchased online, you should still have a receipt. Print it out and call your local store for next steps.
