Good basic laptop

Excellent for basic word processing, browsing internet and such. Regularly stream live TV and movies without problems. Wish the screen resolution and contrast we're better, but is adequate.

First time I tried to use it on battery only the screen dimmed and the battery dropped 25% immediately. I would not recommend for a high tech person.

I'm no expert when it comes to processors & graphics cards but this thing is much much faster than my last laptop. My only wish is that it had 1 more usb 2.0 or 3.0 port. using one for my mouse leaves only one open.

I purchased another one and it is super loud like its revving up each time I do a search. Very annoying! and slow. My other one does not do this.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 320-15 laptop for your son. This is a high performance system with its AMD A12-9720P processor and 8GB of RAM. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. Additionally, this system should be a fast system with its AMD A12-9720P processor and 8GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

lap top for a guy on a budget

I can watch movies listen to music and type letters with it. It has a decent size hard drive for me. It has a good graphics card so I could use it for gaming if I did that kind of thing. It has WiFi and blue tooth which I like and it was able to connect to multiple devices. I got a mouse and key board and HDMI cable to use it on my flat screen. I'm happy for what I paid for it.

My only complaint would be the short battery life. It does job and still going strong.

Processor is a little slow, but acceptable at this price point. An upgrade to this device in the future would be to add a few more ports and put a little more quality into the CD drive.
