Work just fine for those who need to surf internet, Office docs etc. Wish the screen had a bit better resolution but hey it’s great for the price.

Plastics are a little thinner than the similarly-spec'd HP it competes against. Wireless AC is good, has a DVD drive, battery life is pretty decent. I also like that it's easy to get apart, as the entire bottom pops off without a ton of force. This is what I did first, to add a solid state drive. Now, it boots in 7 seconds and opens everything at the drop of a hat.

I bought this laptop for my wife to use primarily for creating flyers and such on publisher. Speed is good but the mouse pad/tracker pad is a bit glitchy

I was looking for a faster processor and Lenova delivered in that dept,size, weight etc. The only negative was their internet homepage had a minor bug that would intermittently tell me my computer was infected and to call microsoft...i knew better but couldn't figure out the culprit until I decided to change my homepage. In short, I would buy Lenova again its not the fastest processor but it works for work tasks. I don't think I will buy another HP again, I had problems from day 1 with that laptop and it's not a year old.

With regard to maintaining the health of your device, you may want to try the Lenovo Utility software that is installed on this device. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up.
Budget laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After some upgrades it can compete with other budget computers. 12 GB Ram (8 GB Kingston HyperX), 250 GB SSD Samsung EVO, Intel Wireless-AC 9260 w/ Bluetooth 5.0. Got this for $299 and added $175 worth of upgrades, which brings this bad boy to roughly $475 before tax. It’s screen and graphics are okay for casual gaming. I haven’t tried anything other than Roblox. Main downside is that slot one ram (4GB) is fixed to the motherboard and can not be upgraded. I bought this for my daughter for her birthday.

If you need more USB port for this device, you may want to consider using a USB Hub with this device. With regard to the cooling fan on this device, This is a high performance system with its Dual-Core/Four-Thread Intel Core i3-8130U processor and 8GB of RAM. It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal.
