Great desktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After conducting research I decided on Lenovo over Dell and HP for the simple fact that Lenovo is a very trusted computing company per numerous Best Buy representatives. I needed and wanted a desktop to run Citrix Receiver, Microsoft Access and Visio, and to do simple audio recording. A big factor in my Lenovo decision was that all other desktops in this price range have ddr3 ram components while the Lenovo has ddr4. As well, the graphics card and cpu are easily upgradeable, lots of internal space for expansion.

Well Rounded Mid Tier PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new Lenovo desktop after I bricked the motherboard's BIOS chip in my old PC (Lenovo H430 i5-2320) trying to update it to get the PC to recognize a EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. After looking at the options I settled on this 90FB0001US because I knew I was going to swap out the NVIDIA GT 730 with above video card and liked that has a hybrid drive (SSHD) were the other Intel i5 IdeaCentre models have a standard hard drive and a solid-state drive (SSD). I always take the old hard drive and install them in the new PC. Other than the EVGA GTX 1050 Ti I also did do some upgrades such as 4x 4GB DDR4 G.Skill RAM and a Pioneer Blu-ray burner. I am very happy, it's a well rounded mid tier gaming PC. Everything is so quiet very little fan noise. If one is looking to make this computer a gaming PC take a look at all of the latest NVIDIA Pascal architecture GTX 1050 options that only pull the power they need from the PCI Express. Just make certain it doesn't have a six pin power connector on the board and you'll be gaming in no time at all.

Great desktop for good price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm an IT Professional so having a good desktop is a must. I've had luck with Lenovo in the past and this hasn't failed to deliver yet, but I have upgraded one item to make the desktop perform faster. For those of you accustomed to an SSD drive you'll know what I'm talking about. I updated to a 500 GB Samsung drive from the hybrid SSD that came in the computer. I will likely end up adding either 16GB or 32GB of RAM as well, but the other guts of the computer are great. Really enjoy the simplicity of getting things up and running and will be using this machine for years to come.

Good computer for the money but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lenovo makes a good computer but the computer was sold with free antivirus as a package. The free antivirus was Webroot but the computer comes with Mcfee installed. Multiple antiviruses can cause instability in the OS. The computer is quick and silent. Works well for my application.

Posted .Thank you form choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 710 desktop. You are correct, you can only have one virus protection software on the device and active at the same time.. If you want to use the Webroot software you were given, you can uninstall the free trial of McAfee. Here are instructions for properly uninstalling McAfee from your IdeaCentre 710. Follow instructions on the Webroot packaging to install it:  http://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-McAfee-Security-Center

If You're Considering Buying This Then Read This
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a brand new computer a day before I got this which was an underwhelming experience so I returned it and bought this for an extra $200. This computer performs fantastic with no noticeable drop offs. It can play light gaming titles, such as Minecraft and G-Mod, flawlessly. It potentially has the ability to play heavier titles as well, but I haven't tried it out. I also use this machine to do Excel work for class and, again, there was no drop off in performance. This thing simply flies. On another note, this computer is sexy and an instant attention grabber. If you're considering buying it, just do it because you won't get anything better for your money without building your own.

Minimum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old computer broke about a month and a half ago so naturally I needed to purchase another one. I went to BestBuy and one of the employees told me about this one and how its got a graphics card that should be able to run newer games OK, but if I want to run them on the highest settings I'd need to purchase and replace it. Fine. Turns out you can't really do that though due to the fact the power supply is only 250W which honestly, I didn't realize they made any that low any more and I've now read that there are only a couple of cards that have the same connections as the current one so even if I wanted to replace the power supply and buy a really nice graphics card, it probably wouldn't plug in. Also turns out the graphics card in the computer is what I'd say stretching the truth because my old one had an integrated card that could run my games at ~30fps (terrible) so hey this one should be quite a bit better seeing as how its dedicated....nope. I'm getting a wopping ~35fps (terrible +5). Keep in mind this is with all graphic settings as low as possible. Oh also about a month after purchasing it, the keyboard that came with isn't recognized by the tower for some reason, I tried unplugging it and replugging it in, I've tried different USB ports and after 1 month it's no longer recognized. Thankfully I held on to the keyboard from my old computer. The only reason why I gave this computer 2 stars instead of 1 is because the computer itself DOES actually function. I can use the internet and it can....turn off.....it can do everything a 300 dollar computer can do so with that being said, save yourselves the 300 bucks and buy the cheapest computer you can find if you are thinking of buying this computer.

It could have been so much better.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally purchased this computer to do CAD drawings and to play games as it was relatively affordable, and have been using it for seven months. However i did not ask about the graphics card that was installed and now regret it. The computer comes with an i5 6400, and a Seagate SSHD, which are great, but that's where the hardware goodness come to an end. to address the elephant in the room, the GT730 inside is awful, it's far too under powered, with mine only having 2GB of what must be GDDR3 memory. Making CAD drawings is acceptable and watching YouTube videos is fine but playing games is where this card holds the system back. In games such as PlanetSide2 and Unturned I was only able to play at 20-40 FPS at the LOWEST settings. The card only has one HDMI port and one VGA port so multi-monitor setups are not it's strong point. Furthermore THE CARD CANNOT BE UPGRADED AS THERE IS A PROPRIETARY POWER SUPPLY AND MOTHERBOARD WHICH MUST BOTH BE REPLACED to upgrade to something such as an RX580 or GTX1060. Overall, if you ONLY intend to do light CAD work or use this as a home theatre PC, then you should be fine. If you are thinking about heavier workloads or gaming, I would reccomend building a Ryzen system instead.

Posted .We recommend you always check with the game's software publisher or any other resource demanding software program publisher you will be using, for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

SSHD not SSD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great overall computer, quicker than most and very good for the money. I am disappointed in Best Buy because they advertised this as a 8GB SSD which it is a 8GB SSHD which isn't as quick. Boot time isn't as quick as my laptop but still quicker than the standard hard drives. Overall much quicker than my older PC and great deal for how powerful it is.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 710 desktop. This system has a hybrid hard drive. It has an 8GB solid state cache memory for the operating system. This provides fast boot up from off and quick wake up from sleep mode. There is a 1TB standard drive for user storage of programs and files.

Good Budget Tower
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good budget tower that comes with reliability. Always used Dell but so far I have loved my Lenovo. Graphic card is kind of weak and the card itself runs for 80 alone. Power supply is also weak for those wanting to switch out to a better gpu. However not bad on the price as I can still run PC games on low settings with an average of 30-40fps.

Great pc, but has a few drawbacks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up at best buy a few months ago. It works great, and does internet and most games without an issue. However, when I went to upgrade the graphics card to a GTX750 ti, I found I was unable to put in the graphics card, or many others to upgrade the pc. It's a great computer, but I don't seem to be able to upgrade the graphics card in any way.
