    Missing Parts. GEEK SQUAD LIES!

I have been using this computer for a few months now. I bought it as a Geek Squad approved return product. It has worked just fine so far, but I just recently began trying to upgrade it. When I opened it up, though, I found that there were missing parts that were promised to be there. I was told that no parts were missing but the Invidia 750 graphics card was not there and the motherboard was far too old for a computer this new. I am very upset about this purchase. If you ever consider buying a "Geek Squad Approved" item, you may want to rethink that decision.

    Inadequate power supply

Bought this for my 90 year old dad because his last pc (hp) crashed . This pc runs flawless but after slowly hooking up his peripherals over a couple of weeks it started runnng into " not enough power available " message . It is beyond the Best Buy return time limit and haven't called Lenovo yet . Assuming I am stuck with it now . His old cheaper pc ran all his devices with no. Issues . If you have a lot of USB devices this is not the pc to purchase

Bought this yesterday and for an i5, this is slow. Slower than i expected it to be. Debating on taking this back. Its really for the kids to use but i feel bad letting them play and surf on such a slow system. Its really painful. Not Lenovo's fault. Jus a trash processor. Shoulda went with my first instinct and not went below an i7. The RAM on the inside is garbage as well.

    Unable to upgrade power supply

Be cautious when buying this product: power connector to motherboard appears to be non-standard and therefore cannot be easily upgraded. Base power supply is only 250W, so product should only be purchased if no substantial upgrades are planned.

    Really really dissapointed

I was so excited to get this computer, really thought it would be great. But, it does not work properly, it does not connect to Wifi. I exchanged my first one, thinking it was just that one computer was broken. Wrong. Happened again. The specific issue is the built in Intel(R) dual band wireless AC, a network adapter. Note I get Wifi on all my other devices. But this network adapter in this computer has an error "device cannot start" and I have checked and it is up to date. Im really frustrated. Now I have to drive all the way back to best buy to return it again. I believe a brand new $700 computer should not be dysfunctional and require work and diagnostics straight out of the box. Such a pain.

With regard to the WiFi issues you mention with your device, there may be Network wireless LAN driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. Here is the link:

All Lenovo computers are chronic pain

    Posted .

I have had many many different computers at home and work. I have to say that Lenovo products are a chronic pain, like sciatica. Similar to sciatica, the pain radiating along and runs down both legs from the lower back. Some issues I experienced: Slow shutting down time, some times, it takes more than 30 minutes....... (Are you kidding me?) Built in sensors has quite independent personality and mood. The whole system is always to be creative enough to break down at aspects which you least expects them...(for example, the latest problem I has was wifi stopped working...Would it worth it to repair it??)

I purchased two for our office and both have issues. Lenovo used to be a quality product but now they are as bad as dell. On one the video card will not work and the other freezes up.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your Lenovo IdeaCentre 710 desktops. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If you feel that there are no programs installed on the device that are not compatible with Windows 10, there may be driver updates for your specific system.
