I bought this as an open box deal. I was amazed at how many BSODs I got out of the box. It kept hanging/freezing - ended up returning it. Uncharacteristicly, I didn't check the reviews before buying - it seems I am not the only person to have problems with this model. Very disappointed in the product but was very pleased with Best Buy's customer service on the return.

Intel i7, 8Gb memory, 1TB Hard Drive... Touch screen, flexible sleek design, and completely affordable! I told the Bestbuy salesman my budget and couldn't believe I walked away with such performance... He was very patient and knowledgable.

This laptop replaces my 6 year old Sony which also worked well for me until recently when Windows 10 crashed. I bought the Lenovo two days ago. It was easy to set up. So far, I've noticed that it is much faster. It runs a lot cooler; that is to say it is actually cold sitting on my lap. More important is that it runs much faster. Of course, I haven't yet cluttered it up with a bunch of programs. LOL! After reading some of the reviews here, I was a bit concerned as to whether this computer is a good choice. In fairness, I will update this review should anything develop in the future.

Horrible laptops! Even worse Lenovo support !!!

I bought my daughter a very fast intel I7 Lenovo laptop with Best Buy protection package when she went to college. After a year and a half it broke so BB sent it off to Lenovo to get fixed. They said they were waiting for parts. After a month awaiting parts and many phone calls BB refunded our money back. We unfortunately bought another Lenovo. This time an Edge 15 I7. Since all BB did was send the laptop to Lenovo I decided to not get the protection. Big mistake!!!! After 3 months the computer crapped out. We boxed it up and sent it to Lenovo. They sent a letter saying they were awaiting 2 different parts with unknown delivery times. Of course I asked to escalate the matter. An Escalation manager Demetric at Lenovo was assigned to my case. I stated my daughter needed her computer for college. He said he would look into replacing the computer. The parts were still on backorder and he reported the laptop had been fixed and shipped already. The laptop arrived running very sluggishly but worked. Shortly thereafter the screws on the bottom started falling out. Two months later the screen turned pink. I called Lenovo at least a dozen times. Each time took over 30 minutes. I got one email from a new Escalation manager Halbert asking me what had been fixed on the laptop? Why ask me? They should have records of what they fixed. I responded in an email with all I knew plus a copy of the receipt from 5 months ago. After two weeks with no reply I finally had to involve American Express and Best buy. Best buy exchanged the laptop. Thanks Best Buy. I havent heard anymore from Lenovo a month after i started calling them. Best buy even let me buy the warranty which is soooooooo worth not to have to deal directly with a company. Of course we didn't get another Lenovo so maybe this one will stay working. Moral of the story......Lenovo products stink but their tech support is worse. DO NOT BUY LENOVO.

It's good laptop to play witch 3, or other games in 2015. It's thin and light, so business is also okay. It has touch screen, so it's very convenience to show what you want to show to others quickly, especially, you are talking with professor. 1 tb is enough.

Pro's i7 is fast Discrete graphics for great dispay Full sized keyboard Good touchpad Easy to open and upgrade Cons Battery life is poor by modern standards. I get around 3-4 hours It's bigger than most 15 inch laptops due to spacing below the screen. This makes it awkward to fit in cases Stock hard drive is slow. Replace it with a solid state and you'll have one of the fastest laptops available. I love this laptop. The build quality is great, it's incredibly fast and easy to work on. It's fast enough to play games, do some light video editing and edit photos.

I was tossing this around quite a bit before I actually decided to go through and purchase it. I kept staring at the reviews, and did some Google searches. After it all, I have to say, I am very happy I bought this laptop. It has all the features I was looking for; minus the SSD. Overall, the computer is very fast! The battery lasts about 4-5 hours on battery save mode. It gets about 60 FPS on low gfx and 50+ on medium. Though after an hour of gaming, the laptop warms up a bit, but no where near as hot compared to some laptops I've gamed on. It's a got some weight to it, but I prefer the sturdy feel of the design over the weight. For the price, I couldn't be more satisfied! #lenovoLove

    DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER

I am an architecture student, and needed a new computer to handle all of the programs I run for my design classes. I did thorough research on the specs I needed in a computer for it to handle my programs, and purchased this computer because it met, and in some areas exceeded, the requirements I needed. However, six months later I HATE THIS COMPUTER. It is SO SLOW. I took it to Geek Squad to have the hard drive tested- they came back and said nothing was wrong. (The Geek Squad man also said that they call Lenovos "Leno-no's" because they are such bad computers, which made my wonder why no one told me). Then, I called Lenovo and their tech guy did a virus scan to see if anything was wrong. No results. At this point it has been six months with this computer and I am fed up. I called Best Buy to ask for a return or exchange, and they said I wasn't eligible for that. When I asked her what my options were, she literally said "You don't have any options, I'm sorry". I called Lenovo directly, and got an automated voicemail saying that their center is shut down and not accepting calls. So here I am, with a computer that doesn't do what I need it to, and am probably about to drop another 1000+ on a new computer so this one can gather dust. This is not Best Buy's fault, it is Lenovo's, however I was so disappointed in the customer service. Telling a student that they have "no options" for a computer they dropped a huge amount of money on is NOT a way to win return customers. I trusted the Best Buy sales guy when he said "this computer is a beast," and now that it is definitely not they tell me that I have no options. SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION!!! I am writing this because I wish I had someone tell me this 6 months ago.

    Perfect for Students... and Cats

This laptop is great is great for students. I've had it for almost a year and I can say that is VERY durable. I've knocked it into things, it has fell from my dorm bed (about 4 feet high), and has accidentally sat on. No damage, no problems at all. Plus my cat loves to sleep on it and rub it's head against it for some reason.

I picked up this 5th gen i7, 1TB hybrid drive, GeForce graphics on paper awesome machine. First time rebooting, blue screen. Trying to update GeForce Driver well, it's been over an hour and it's still installing. Task manager says the disk is running at 100% but nothing much is going on. This thing has so much unnecessary software pre-installed it's killing it. I'm going to try a clean install and if it's still bad it's going back to Best Buy.

I purchased my laptop in September. I had a 6 year old Dell that unexpectedly died on me. I saw this unit while researching; the price was good and the specs sounded great but Lenovo wasn't a brand I was initially thrilled with. I read reviews on BestBuy that prompted me to give them a second look and the demo I had with an Edge unit in store was good. Then, I started utilizing it in real life. Mind you my usage is pretty basic, surfing, a couple of computer games that shouldn't be that taxing on the processor, nothing graphic heavy and some streaming. The laptop is often slow, the fan runs constantly and I can't get a fix from Lenovo, and the touchscreen can sometimes be unresponsive. The issues aren't major and didn't become prevalent until after the 30 day exchange period had past, convenient, but I do wish I'd purchased another Dell.
