This product stunk from day one. Slow and froze a lot. Turned out to be that Windows was corrupted. But of course I had no idea, I thought it was just a not-so-great product. Had to pay a good amount of money to get it fixed. Don't care for it.

Great Product with a few caveats

This is a great labtop at an unbeatable price point for the value you get. Full HD 1920x1080, touch screen, 8 gb ram, 5th generation Core i3, backlit keyboard. Now, the caveats.. The first one I purchased had a faulty battery, where if the power adapter was removed from the labtop, the labtop would shut off immediately. Also, the wifi would intermittently disconnect randomly. Since I love all the features with its great price, I didn't want to give up on this labtop. I took it in for an exchange and my second one's battery worked fine. But the wifi still dropped randomly. I perused through the Best Buy reviews and there was a person that gave great advice to fix the wifi issue: go to Device Manager, then go to all the Power Management tabs and uncheck all the boxes that says device can turn off to save power. Since doing this, I've had no issues with the wifi and I absolutely love this product now! Good luck finding this labtop though, it's been discontinued and even the open box items are hard to find. If you find one that works great, you will be very satisfied.

A lot of laptop for a little price

This is a very good laptop, "for the price". Keep that in mind if considering this one. I believe this is now discontinued from Lenovo therefore, the lower price. It ticked most of my checklist boxes when looking for a laptop for by wife's boss. Touchscreen, backlit full keyboard with numpad, 1920x1080 screen, usb 3.0 and hdmi. Really the only thing that was missing was an SSD drive, but that can be taken care of rather easily. I was looking in the 500-600 dollar range for ones that include SSD. Just remember what you're getting for the price and you should be happy.

Great premium machine for the money

I got this on the deal of the day. It is an incredible machine for the money. Its a I3 but that's ok, it acts as if it's a quad core thanks to Intel. Its actual metal too, not plastic. I won't have to worry about it warping in the future! I'm impressed!

I traded in a chrome book that i first purchased and got this laptop on a deal of the day. I tend to chose price over quality. It has worked out great. Very fast machine. Well worth the $$$. The touch screen is clear. It is a little heavy but feels very solid. Battery lasts about 4-5 hours. It runs cool but i might upgrade to ssd. I will be using this machine for a long time to come.

Nice specs on paper..build quality lacking

On paper, the specs vs price - it's a great value. The aluminum chassis gives it a nice feel to it and the hinge problems that of prior lenovo models may seem to be resolved as these are metal hinges vs the older plastic ones that were used. My biggest gripe with this laptop is the keyboard. The whole laptop is a nice sturdy aluminum build but the keys seem to be a flimsy plastic that on my first purchase of this laptop ( I took the first one back to get it exchanged for another ) the tab key made a high pitch screeching noise. I found that it was the corner of the plastic key rubbing against the aluminum chassis. It was loud enough for me to not put up with a just purchased laptop. FYI - the aluminum chassis is a finger print magnet The trackpad(mouse) could also use improvement . It wasn't as responsive as one would prefer. For what I paid ( and compared to what else I could get in the price range ) I am happy so far with my purchase. I hear Lenovo's support is horrible so hopefully it will not be needed. The unit is very easy to upgrade as I put a solid state drive in mine. One note for those who may do this.. if you need to create a bootable drive.. make sure it is "FAT32" and MBR for UEFI - otherwise the laptop won't even read it as attached in the boot menu.

    Good value, Several issues

Overall I like what i get for the price. But I had to return an item due to screen flicker issues. There are lot of complaints about Wi-Fi issues. Lot of people are saying turning off the "Power Management feature" helps. Fr me it did not. What I found out was that when doing a full Windows update, the driver gets updated to a newer version. "Rolling back" the driver to the default one that comes with the machine solved it to me. The default version 7.35.265 is whats listed on Lenovo site as well. So 7.35.295 that got installed with Windows update was giving me issues. To roll back, go to Device manager-> network Adaptors -> Broadcom -> Driver Tab -> Rollback Hope this helps

Better than I expected, Wifi might be fixable

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When I bought this, there were no reviews available, and I bought it sight unseen. Taking it out of the box, I was very impressed with the quality of the product. Yes, it's heavy, but it uses mostly metal for the shell. The screen is significantly better than I expected too. The display is great, with above average resolution and good viewing angles and color range. The other specs are good, from CPU to RAM and the like. Battery life is also very good for the price, perhaps 5-6 hours to a charge. The keyboard and trackpad could be a little better, but really, I felt I came away with a big bargain (got it for $349). As for users having the WiFi cut out, this appears to be a problem many Windows 10 users have. I went into device manager and pulled up the settings for the wireless adapter, and then disabled the setting that allows Windows to turn off the device to save power. After that, our wifi problems were gone. Maybe MS will fix this in their eternally updating Windows 10 strategy. This is a great machine, and I hope it lasts for the long haul.

Not bad. It's still going strong. I hate windows 10 but since it came with it, it isn't crashing half has horribly as the other computers that 'upgraded' to windows 10 but I can feel that it is doing too much in the background. Windows 10! Why must you slow down my machines in order to spy on me!

So far this laptop is having severe issues with connecting to wifi. It goes in and out and this can be frustrating if you work from home like I do and constantly get kicked off. Prior to purchasing I read about the wifi issues but thought it was only for laptops that weren't installed with the latest Windows software. I was wrong. Going to return it within the next few days for something more reliable.

    Replaced dead laptop

I have had 2 Asus laptops die in last 6 months. Last one was only 6 months old. Work gives me a Lenovo for work so I decided to try one for home. Plus last 2 Asus's had AMD processers, this has intel. Even thought it is only an i3 (5th generation) it is faster than the AMD A10 I had last. Screen is crystal clear. Touch screen is very sensitive. Case is aluminum, I believe. Has both 2.4 and 5 GH wifi, very quick. Others have mentioned slow wifi. I had slow wifi recently, blamed my provider, but afer I replaced my 4 year old WNDR3400 router everything in my house got faster. This new Leveno Edge is working better than our last 2 laptops. We are not gamers so I can't comment on that performance. For email, Internet surfing, Micrsoft Word and Excel and Netflix it works great.

Comparing Lenovo Edge and Insignia 11.6 Tablet

I brought and compared this Lenovo Edge 15 to the Insignia 11.6 Tablet for about a week. I kept the Insignia tabet and returned the Lenovo 15 because the pros outweight the cons. Insignia display color settings change only: -1 Green from right, and 14% display brightness. Lenovo display color settings change only: -6 Green from right, -2 Blue from right, and 81% display brightness. Insignia Pros: - picture display has alot better contrast, sharpness, and color on the Insignia than the Lenovo - runs quiet with no noises - no heat emitted onto my legs after leaving it on my lap for over an hour - portability all day - battery life was 9 hrs compared to only 4 hrs on the Lenovo - weight only 1.7 lbs with screen tablet compared to 5 lbs for the Lenovo - touchpad is quick to respond and accurate on Insignia than Lenovo Lenovo Pros: - larger screen size - CPU is 30% faster The Insignia 11.6 Tablet is three times more useful to me than the Lenovo Edge. If someone would now make a 3 pound 13.6" tablet with 1440p, i3, 128GB SSD, 6GB ram for $299, it would be perfect.

    having Wifi Issues, no DVD

I have a defect with the screen in the corner when it is dark background, and Wifi connection is constantly dropping to the point of can't use. I will be returning it to the store after not even a week of owning it. I had no idea it did not have a DVD drive, all my photo editing software is now useless as well as all the photos store on DVD's. Also the keyboard is really wide, when using the touch screen you have to reach over or flip like a tablet to be comfortable which is a problem when you need the keyboard. Does have good battery life and screen is nice and bright.

    HORRIBLE!!!!

I'm a graduate student taking online classes, so my computer is with me all the time. We went on vacation and my Dell of 5 1/2 years crashed....ugh!. So in a pinch, I swung by Best Buy and purchased this Lenovo, a brand I had never heard of. I went merely off of the recommendation of the Best Buy salesman. This purchase was a horrible decision! CONS: I knew this computer was going back from the minute I pressed the on button. It took nearly an entire morning to set up the computer. Once I finished the set up, it was constantly locking up on me which required restarting it. I was trying to complete a timed online assessment for school and it kept dropping the internet connection (a con I noticed in other reviews). It was extremely slow. The screen was awkward to look at. It didn't have a CD/DVD drive. PRO: I liked the touch screen. I was however, happy with Best Buy's customer service. I live an hour and half away from a store and they extended the 15-day return policy an extra 5 days for me. I exchanged the computer for a Toshiba and they made the process very easy. The Geek Squad tech helped me transfer my documents from the Lenovo to the Toshiba, which was nice. The bottom line: I would not recommend this computer to my worst enemy and I will never buy a Lenovo again! Hope this review saves others the headache.

This notebook provides a great value given the 1080 screen, 5th gen i3 processor, and 8GB of memory. Probably the best price-performance point offered for notebooks by Best Buy. Note: Wifi issues have been addressed. It was a Win10 problem - not Lenovo!

This one is a beast. Finally a budget laptop with a metal chassis. Looks good, feels durable, but very heavy. It's fast enough. I like the full hd display. For sub 500 dollars its a good laptop.
