Good product, but lots of malware when delivered

I'm technically advanced and the first thing I do when I buy a new devise is check it for malware. I turned the machine on and all these windows and programs started popping up. Not stuff I asked for or needed. After connecting to the Internet via WiFi, I downloaded Malwarebytes. It found 68 suspicious files, executable's, and other flagged items. I noticed that Windows Defender didn't seem to be running on the machine, so I updated that and turned it on. I also uninstalled a bunch of what I considered garbage from the machine... (e.g., an ad program), can't remember the name. This all took about 3 to 4 hours and how someone without technical skills could do this is beyond my comprehension. After spending the time and effort to clean up the machine (this was not an open box item, so I suspect they all come like this), I would rate the machine at 4 stars for now (I just purchased it last night). It seems a bit sluggish and I haven't tried the webcam yet. If that doesn't work well enough, I will return the machine. I quite disappointed that a machine would be distributed in this condition.

    Not Impressed

I bought this laptop primarily for the 2in1 and the price. I was not impressed at all. I took this back after not even 24hours. It was slow and just meh. This mite be a good laptop for a teenager for a first time computer but if you are planning on doing any actual work I would spend a little extra and get something worth having.

I'm a 1st semester RN student and needed a 2in1 to keep up in my classes. This thing is perfect. Very convenient to be able to use as a tablet to read etext books and then type papers with the laptop mode.

Great machine for the money open box $200

It seems slow because of the boot times. However, all it needs is a Solid State Hard drive and boot times are under 30 seconds. Windows 10 is great for it and a good OS. 10 screws in back and HDD and Battery can be replaced. Shelve the HDD that comes with it out of the box. It is slow and the only backup for the OS.. Another reason to migrate (not clone) to a SSD. Migration with win10 and GPT format might require 3rd party migration software. Some are free. GPT migration is a small fee. Paragon migration to SSD is cheap $20. This is a wonderfull machine.. I bought 2 and put my 5 year old laptop that weighs a ton away.

    Great Laptop

This is a great laptop for any basic to moderate user. It has reasonable performance and can even smoothly run a game like Portal 2. Battery life is great and it is overall nice. I would recommend the Lenovo brand sleve to go with it, as finding a case for it was a challenge. One con, if you want accurate screen color and great viewing angles in any position, this is not the laptop for you.

    Apparently got a dud

I am flabbergasted at how great the reviews for this computer was, which lead me to choose it over more expensive options, and how AWFUL the computer has been since taking it home and using it. Its purpose was to be an alternate computer to my equally awful Lenovo X230 I was forced to buy for school, which crashes and loses random programs regularly and has given my entire professional school class headache after headache. I only need it to run office and google chrome, nothing special. It cannot handle having more than 2-3 programs running at once, web pages are slow to load, it makes distracting concerning noises (brand new), and simply is not a good computer even for its low price. I wish we had spent a little more for something that wouldn't frustrate me just as much or more than the X230 - at least IT is somewhat sturdy. I don't see this computer lasting past 6 months. Did I get a dud? What are these 4.4 reviewers doing with theirs, just looking at it?

    Battery Doesn't Work

    Posted .

This laptop looks amazing. It does everything a regular laptop can do. The problem, and it's a big big problem, is that it doesn't charge while you use it. It charges while it is closed, but once you unplug it, move it, open it up, and plug it in again, it just dies slowly and it does cut off while plugged in when it hits 0%. Then when you turn it back on, it charges while you use it until you close it and unplug it, then it goes back to counting down until it dies. I have talked to multiple people at lenovo customer support, and they uninstalled and reinstalled my battery driver and the OKO program that comes on the computer. Neither of these worked. It still only charges while closed or after it dies completely. DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER.

Ten year old technology will not run windows 10. Very well built unit but just a huge mistake on the processor. Will only get slower with time.

    Big Headache

After two hours trying to get the internet to work, "no connections available" even though my 6 year old Dell is up and running, I am beyond frustrated Lenovo could not give me anything tech wise without premium access saying the warranty expired in Sept 2015. I JUST BOUGHT THIS TWO HOURS AGO. What a waste, first thing this is going back to Best Buy will not cheap myself and will save a little more and get a DELL

After reading the reviews I thought this would be a decent computer for school work. I was wrong it takes forever to start up the touchpad is very dysfunctional. It would zoom in without me wanting it to I disabled that option and now my right click is somehow interpreted to a left click. After using tablet mode which is very confusing to set up the mouse disappears and I have to restart so the mouse can function again. I'm very dissapointed and mad at myself for not returning it sooner

The main purpose of this was for school... My average school day is around 7 hours. Tablet does not last all day with power saver mode on and brightness down, a HUGE problem for me. Made me blow of $349...
