    good computer; terrible display

I had this computer for a week -- quickly opened webpages, and programs functioned well; streamed videos well too, however, it did have issues with a live stream from AMC. The major issue with this computer is its display. The colors are horribly washed out and dull, and images are not crisp; HD videos suffer as well; I hooked it up to my TV with an HDMI and the colors and video were beautiful. However, I did not want it constantly hooked to a television so I decided to return it. I'd recommend it if you want a solid computer for the price and you will hook it up to another monitor, but if not, the poor display will be hard to tolerate.

It's not Lenovo, it's this model.

I felt compelled to respond so as to better educate others looking for a bargain, and no I do not work for Lenovo nor am I getting any endorsements. I'm an IT professional with 20 yrs plus. Moving on, it's not Lenovo. They make great computers and like all the major brands, on the high end and low end. In other words, this is like a Ford Fiesta, not a Ford GT. If you're bargain shopping, my personal recommendation I give family and friends is stay away from AMD CPU processors and stick with Intel, but avoid Intel Atom and Celeron processors. Usually, the rest of the system is built according to what CPU processor they are willing to put in. I'll keep it that simple to avoid your ADD from kicking in. Good Luck.

Dont buy this! I bought this computer and its a piece of trash. The only reason why i bought it was the desent specs for the 300$ . But once i got it was cheap, took forever to load, the plastic chiped, and the battery wouldnt load past 60 percent. Best buy often has sales my brother bought a dell laptop with basicily the same specs for 300$ and he loves it. what i would do is wait for another deal from best buy with a nicer laptop .

    Crashed after just 2 days

Bought online for store pickup, getting it was quick and easy, but the easiness stopped there! Took a little over an hour to set it up out of the box. Then I added Office and Chrome, it worked great for 24 hours then instantly had a blue screen come up that recovery was necessary and take it to a repairman for help. 2 days! I didn't even have time to do anything on it. I took it back to the store, the Geek Squad tried to help, but they said it was beyond repair, it was just defective and sometime you get lemons. The return process was easy, full refund without issue.

    Awful laptop

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP!! It acquires viruses EXTREMELY easily and is horribly slow. The Mcafee antiviral software installed on it is absolutely awful. You can't get anything done with the pop up. The only reason I give this two stars is because its partially functioning still. DON'T DO IT.

Inferior hardware overloaded with junk software

This laptop looks good on paper but once you turn it on and get to work, good gosh - it's a clunky tool that ought to come equipped with a geek just to help you get the double-deep (Windows AND Lenovo's) silly and annoying pre-loaded junk software off the hard drive. Out of the box, my machine was freezing and otherwise bugging me with an extremely slow start up and lots of conflicts popping up regularly. I own four HPs with similar specs that I use in my business, and I bought the Lenova only because I needed an extra laptop in a hurry for a new employee - and Best Buy was sold out of the HPs. The comparable Lenovos were stacked high (the Lenovo was $20 more than the HP). Now I know why. I returned the Lenovo and bought the HP when Best Buy got a fresh stock from HP.

In 2016 my grandfather had bought me and my family this computer. I loved gaming but I couldn’t play many of those games. Today I discovered I could get about 10 - 20 FPS?!? I was blown away.

    Avoid

This is the worst computer I have ever owned. Its made of super cheap material that flexes so much you can hardly type without errors galore. The touchpad has to be nearly disabled to work properly, and it still has issues with minimal functionality. It has similar specs to my old laptop (cord tripped on so replacement in case repair didnt work), yet it is super slow, loads take forever, its really unbelievably bad. Returning asap and will avoid this brand.

    The Other Reviews Are Correct

I purchased this equipment a few days ago, day two at start-up, it froze on the sign in screen forcing me to shut it down incorrectly. Next day, it would NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET!!! All of my other devices (tablet, cell phones, xbox 1) all connected fine. Took it back to best buy, it wouldn't even pick up, much less connect to their site WiFi. Returned it..... slow, screen display a bit grainy/specs not clear. Sorry Lenovo

    Lenovo should really recall it

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bargain price looks really attractive, but the start-up is slow and for Wifi, both at home and in a Starbucks. Limited pre-installed software and integrated graphics. The G51 unfortunately cannot continue the success of my old G50. Perhaps a questionable design of AMD + Win10 is the culprit. Not worth the money, but perhaps worth a call-back fro Lenovo.

This is my first laptop. Had some glitches when I transferred over from a desktop, but with help from Geek Squad, it was running good. Now that the manufacturer's warranty has expired, I'm running into issues again.
