Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Lenovo IdeaCentre 3's ease of use, performance, and compact size, frequently citing its value for the price. Many appreciate the straightforward setup and sufficient storage, although some users found the RAM to be limiting and suggested an upgrade. A few customers experienced issues with the hard drive's speed and software compatibility. Overall, the positive feedback on ease of use and performance outweighs the negative comments regarding limited RAM and hard drive performance.

I recently purchased this desktop for its attractive price and larger HDD. I was aware that it only had 4GB of RAM, but I only need it for the basics e.g. word, excel, and internet. The start-up time is a bit long so I thought leaving the computer on would be a viable solution. Only when left alone for an extended period and the computer goes to sleep, it took even longer for the computer to come around and be responsive. Multitasking to a minimal extent is forbidden. I had a word doc, excel sheet, and a browser open (1 tab open) and had a hard time switching between windows. Several times I got the (Not Responding) in the title bar. Talk about frustrating. I would have opted for the slightly more expensive SSD with more RAM, but it was not in stock at Best Buy. I would stay away from this desktop and splurge for more RAM, better processor, and/or SSD.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre 3 Desktop, model number 90MV0001US ships with the 2-Core AMD Athlon 3050U processor, with a base speed of 2.3GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.2GHz. This processor is supported by 4GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. It will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop in less than 40-seconds. If you are getting slower boot times, Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

The strangest PC I've seen (internally). The motherboard is some weird laptop/desktop hybrid meaning you can still make upgrades but laptop RAM is needed instead of desktop. The greatest part of the desktop is that there was barely any bloat ware but the worst part is that this PC can reach 50% - 90% CPU and 50% RAM usage with nothing happening AT ALL but the system OS running. If you barely doing anything strenuous on a computer this is ok but except major slowdowns when updates happen. P.S. the wifi network card in the tower (qualcomm atheros qca61x4a) wasn't functioning properly at all until the correct driver was installed manually). Even then this network card could barely utilize all of the 500Mbps network speed that I have.

The Lenovo IdeaCentre 3 desktop, model number 90MV0001US, is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD Athlon 3050U processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 2.3GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.2GHz. This configuration has 4GB of DDR4-2666MHz RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This configuration ships with 5G, 802.11AC WiFi. WiFi is always promoted using theoretical speeds and by this standard 802.11ac is capable of 1300 megabits per second (Mbps) which is the equivalent of 162.5 megabytes per second (MBps), when a compatible 802.11ac router is in use. This is 3x faster than the typical 450Mbps speed attributed to 802.11n. If you are getting slower than anticipated computer speeds outside of WiFi speeds, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 3 Desktop computer. Be sure any updates that are needed actually complete are are not interrupted. This will cause the computer to retry the update at a later time. Try postponing updates to a time when you are not using the computer and the system can run its updates without any other activity. Wow worst computer in the history of computers. It takes 30 minutes to open a blank word document. I know it’s the cheapest computer you can find, but time is worth money and this computer wastes more of your time than the computer costs. I will be returning this hunk of sh….back and spending double on something that isn’t slower than molasses

I was advised by a Best Buy employee to purchase these computers (DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH, NEVER LISTEN TO THOSE GUYS)... Absolutely garbage of computers... they should not even be sold, my 386 pc from 1985 is faster than this crap.. I purchased two of them on March 26 2021 for my business, just to be used lightly with minimal software and unfortunately didn't get my employee to use them until a few days ago and those things are so very slow that no task can't be done on them, forget productivity even my employee are complaining and don't want to work on them, and browsing the web is even dreadful... both computers operate the same and are as slow... Because I purchased them 2 and a half month ago, they cannot be returned, so! a huge waste of $756.00 ... Do not make that mistake, do no buy this computer.....

Bought one and hooked it up and it had a boot error, took it back to the store and got another one hooked it up and it worked, so I let it do all the updates it was missing and it did a reboot, it did it’s thing and was working, so I was done and left it on, next morning the power light was flashing so I pushed the enter button and the light quit flashing but nothing else happened, it never came back. I just returned it. Quality control has really gone downhill.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaCentre 3 Desktop, model number 90MV0001US. This model ships with both 5G, 802.11AC WiFi and ethernet 10/100/1000 connectivity. 802.11AC WiFi is also backward compatible to older b/g/n WiFi frequencies. Be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 on the computer, then update all of the BIOS files and drivers, including those for WiFi, up to that latest version of Windows 10. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo
