||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought this computer for my elderly mother (in her 90s); however she is at that juncture that she doen’t need anything more than her present computer - being that it keeps working. I was going to keep this for myself, but I exchanged it for a faster, more powerful computer. Of course that cost more, but worth it. This is a nice computer for someone that doesn’t need bells or whistles.

Solid Performance, Quirky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This computer has great specs at an extremely affordable price point ($459.99 at the time of writing this). The RAM is sufficient for smooth operation, the 1TB HDD is more than enough for the average user, and the screen is beautiful (and the anti-glare screen is a nice touch!). The quirkiness of this machine that I've found so far, lies within two issues (albeit minor). 1.) The HDMI INPUT is great (I've connected an apple tv to test the capability); however, the downfall is that there is not button or keyboard option to switch between monitor mode (HDMI In) and PC Mode (Regular usage). On top of this, once you are in HDMI input mode, there is no way to control the volume through the speakers. 2.) The second issue that I've noticed, (very small detail here), is that Windows Hello does not recognize this device as being capable. The interesting thing is that this computer is advertised as having an infrared webcam, and they even advertise windows hello as being used on this device. What I think is weird is that the product photos for this machine show a webcam with three smaller circles at the top; however, mine only has the one - the webcam itself. Could it be that I received a machine with the wrong component installed? Overall, I find this computer to be a solid value and a great purchase to the average user. I would definitely recommend.

With regard to the combo HDMI port (both input and output capable through the same port.), try adjusting the volume on this computer by clicking on the speaker icon at the bottom right of your Windows 10 screen. If there is no speaker icon, click on the up arrow to reveal the toolbar tray window. Look for the speaker icon there. This system does not have Windows Hello capability, there is no infrared camera on this device for Windows Hello. Lenovo does not use facial recognition with Windows Hello, our systems use a fingerprint reader.
