    Excellent Computer

This computer performs well. It loads fast. Going through programs is a breeze. I would recommend it. The only thing I was surprised to find at this price point is that it has only VGA and HDMI connections in the back instead of DVI and HDMI. VGA is kinda outdated already. But overall, I was surprised at how much I like windows 10, over windows 8 that is. It is more similar to windows 7. If someone is used to windows 8, they can easily switch to the tablet mode, and have it in the typical windows 8 way.. I had to remove some added games, but overall, the computer does not seem overloaded with unnecessary programs. I removed the anti-virus. Microsoft firewall is just as good.

I was sold this computer with the promise it would have the power to run everything I needed. I explained to the clerk that I would be out of town for a few weeks for work, and needed to trust him. By the time I was able to go through the the motions with the computer it was to late to return. Granted the computer is not a bad computer. Just going to avoid Best Buy from here on out due to being stuck with a computer that can not accommodate the one game I wanted to play. ARK. The product was fine for a computer it is a 3 star.

It worked fine for about 11 months. Then constant freezing issues. Took it to Geek Squad for warranty service. They found nothing wrong, and sent it for further service in Kentucky. They found nothing wrong with it. So, my pc that freezes within a few minutes of being on has nothing wrong with it. I have now replaced it with a PC by HP and I am hoping it lasts longer than a year.

I brought back because the mouse and keyboard disappear after a few minutes of using. We have to manually shut down and turn back on now and then. They said there was nothing wrong with it. It is still happening and will have to go through it again tomorrow

You might want to try looking for driver updates. You can follow the link below to Lenovo.com support-drivers and look for any updates for your specific system. Be sure to create a restore point on your system before you download any software, hope this helps:

I have read similar complaints about Lenovo's computers. This one falls in line with that. THe computer seems to run fast and quiet however. be aware that the advertising of the components and capabilities are misleading. This computer does NOT have DVI inputs. This is big especially if you use more modern bigger and better ( higher resolution) monitors. To have a VGA only graphics card is inexplicable for this computer with higher end , new processors and hybrid hard drives.

Just had a 4 year old Gateway I3 crash on me. The sales guy at Best Buy recommended the Lenovo. Easy setup, HDMI graphics, colors are good and the new I5, nice, fast, quiet and smooth. No speakers included, I added a set of Bluetooth headphones and works well!

I bought this computer Sunday after taking back another brand computer. I made the right decision this computer so far is running flawlessly. The computer is very quick and responsive with no bugs. The computer is very quiet and looks good on my desk. I do have one complaint, the Lenovo web site is kind of hard to navigate around and Lenova could make there website a little more strait forward. I would give this computer a 5 star if it wasn't for the website.

I went into this knowing this computer really cannot be updated due to the proprietary power supply and motherboard. Still - a very nice computer. Quality keyboard and mouse, and very quiet. This unit came with a single 8 gig 2133 mhz DIMM. I just upgraded mine with two GSkill 8 gig 2400 mhz DIMMs - and it rocks now. Video rendering speed has more than doubled. Very happy camper here. It's not a true gaming computer, so you can't expect that if purchasing. Works fine for light to medium gaming which is what I do.

Specs for this PC were wrong on the Best Buy Website. This computer does not have DVI or DisplayPort out. Your options are VGA and HDMI. It has both onboard and PCI graphics. Both have HDMI and VGA.

I am a pc gamer and my old computer was running at approx 3-13fps and I really needed something that ran a little faster (okay, a lot faster!). I was contemplating building my own, but after putting in the OS and whatnot, I was going to come out more than I wanted to. So off to Best Buy I went. I saw this computer and it met all the recommended requirements plus some! Im now playing at approx 60fps and have even been up to 98fps . May not be much to some, but after playing MMORPGs at the rate I was before this is amazing and I am so happy with it. I have no complaints at this time.

I upgraded to this computer from an aged Windows Vista machine. I love everything about it. There was a bit of a learning curve with Windows 10 but I now really like it. I just removed my hard drive from the old computer into this one as a second drive. So I had all my files instantly. I like how quiet the machine is. The only thing I upgraded immediately were the keyboard and mouse to wireless versions.

Open Box Purchase not always a good deal!

    Posted .

I purchased the Lenovo Ideacentre 700 Desktop several days ago. It was an open-box item. The discount on this item turned into a not-so-good deal. The motherboard on the computer keeps getting error messages regarding the USB on the motherboard. The Geek Squad did a full diagnostics on the computer and did a factory restore. However, the messages returned. This machine will probably have to be sent to Lenovo for repair. Other than the error messages, everything seems ok, The computer seems to be working fine. It is extremely quiet. It has only a 250 power supply, which I didn't know at the time of purchase. I purchased it because of the 2gb dedicated graphics card and the other specs seemed pretty good. I have played World of Warcraft with no problems. The computer is too slow and under powered for raids on WOW. It seems fast enough for basic computing, but I'm disappointed in the speed for gaming. To spend extra money to purchase a better graphics card and power supply, I should have just gone with an upgraded model. I thought I did enough research before purchasing. Disregard the return policies and warranty when speaking with the sales people. They are not always correct. In addition to the error messages, I needed the keyboard replaced because one of the letters keys came off. It's a cheap keyboard and mouse. The power cord was missing also, which Best Buy replaced. There was no documentation or set up guide either. I do NOT recommend purchasing open-box items and will only purchase NEW from now on. The discount is NOT worth the trouble or time spent with Best Buy.

Can Not Upgrade / Expand Performance

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Lenova advertises this model as "the expandable powerhouse", and they continue to promote it as "easy-to-upgrade". Unfortunately, it is none of this. Due to the motherboard requiring a 10pin connection from the PSU, you will not be able to upgrade the graphics card, or the PSU. Such an adapter does not exist in this universe to solve the problem. This was very disappointing to me as I loved the design of the case. It was so much stronger and of higher quality than any Dell or HP's found in Bestbuy. The computer is very quiet, quick to start up/shutdown. Playing games in the lowest settings possible was challenging for it, though. The Nvidia 730 graphics card is just not enough in this day and age, even for a household desktop. When I opened it up to try and replace the graphics card, I did find everything well organized and tucked away properly inside, which was nice. I don't have anything good to say about their tech support, so I won't go there. The sales team was slightly better, but only after dealing with several clueless, possibly new sales reps. After looking around at reviews after I returned my computer, I discovered many more recently added reviews stating the same thing; the computer cannot be upgraded. It appears several of the Lenova Desktop models, even the gaming models, use the motherboard 10pin wire, which will never allow you to upgrade graphics or the PSU. If your grandma, or grandpappy is looking for a quick desktop to surf the web and email, this is for them.
