They are only on the front of this unit. So if you are shopping for a new desktop check this out. Also when plugging into USB port received power surge notification. Needless to say returned and exchanged for an HP with audio on the back & no power surges.

The IdeaCentre Tower 8 Desktop includes an audio‑out port on the back of the device, located just above the HDMI 2.1 port. For quick access, the front panel also features a combined Headphone/Mic jack.
Regarding the power‑surge notification you received, this message can appear when a connected USB device draws more power than the port is designed to provide. Since we’re not sure which port was used, please note that the USB ports on this system offer different power levels depending on their type and placement.
