You can keep these computers running at yheir best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. I bought if for 1/2 price and returned it 3 days later. Window S-Mode is unstable on this device. At first startup, the CPU was Maxed Out at 100% for most of the time (which means it's computing using virtual memory alone). I removed several apps, turned off most of Microsoft bloated Spyware in Win10, and the CPU was still maxed out. Using the internet, web pages downloaded gradually and in blocks. I was expecting some of this, but with larger web pages the connection would break/interrupt. About Win10-S, with NOTHING running (no apps), and just tweaking settings, I got several windows error messages. A few times I just got a black screen for several seconds, which reminded me of the old days when windows would crash a lot and you'd get the Blue Screen of Death. This laptop is essentially "useless." Maybe, just maybe, word or excel would work ok, but I returned it without using any apps because of how unstable Win10-S is. Importantly, it's 2020, how can a brand new laptop run at 100% cpu, meaning it's not capable of running its own operating system? Secondly, how can low-end unstable devices be sold en masse by retailers, because people that can least afford computers are being targeted. Finally, this laptop was so "latent" that it's a reflection of Best Buy, and a great surprise to me (I date back to Dos 1.2). I will now either buy a used I-7 or try a chromebook as an alternative.

Decent Chromebook for the Price
