Surfing the net, doing home work, checking email, and other little tasks and this is perfect. However, it is SLOW, S.L.O.W. Due to the slowness, I made sure my updates were installed, checked for heavy memory hogs, looked at my startup files and determined it wasn't any of them...it's just slow. Other than that, It'll work for your basic needs.

I tried to ignore it running slow until I tried playing a game on it, it made me not even wanna play the game anymore. The only thing I liked about the computer was that it is bluetooth. If you decide to buy this computer, please make it your last resort.

Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. It's small, portable, and does the job though. If you are looking for something you need to serve basic functions e.g. a student on a budget that needs something transportable to take notes on, this will serve your needs. The case is easy to mark up and I wish I had a cover to put on it. It's pretty marked up just from being moved around in my backpack.

If I have photos to download from the camera, I use this computer. I like the volume control on the top of the key board. I have not looked at all of the features yet (such as games, etc.) It is a very handy computer.

This laptop runs very slow, front facing camera has very low lighting looks almost dark even in a well lighted room. I went into settings to adjust the lighting but it still does not get bright. I will be returning this for another laptop.

Okay for basic necessities

But it can get very slow, and the camera/audio are pretty bad. If you're a student I don't recommend it as your primary computer, but if you're desperate you can make it work. Using zoom or skype for classes is good as long as you don't have to speak or show you're face, because the computer doesn't support it. But you do get a free year of word subscription.

Web browsing, basic document creation and management. Either stay with the preinstalled Windows S or if you're more technically minded install a lightweight Linux distribution. I don't recommend utilizing the free full Windows 10 upgrade, the hardware simply doesn't run full Windows 10 very well.

It has been very reliable and easy to use. Edge was hard to remove but that's true with any Microsoft products. Its just now starting to slow down and disconnect from the internet. Given the usage, I'm not surprised.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with a recent update of Windows 10 to your Lenovo IdeaPad 1-14 laptop. It is possible that restoring the computer back to original factory setting may correct the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the Micro-SD card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop. You can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad.

This laptop was purchased for my daughter to do her schoolwork during the quarantine. It’s so slow it barely handles the videos she is supposed to watch. Navigating Chrome is a test of patience. Due to quarantine we couldn’t return it, so now it sits. I’d given it less stars but we should have paid more attention and chosen a more powerful machine.
