WIth teh stay at hom eorder beginging back in MAarch, a co worker brought this in to work to set up teleworking. I assited her and was amazed at the laptop how simple it is and several other fellow co workers were impressed. I purchased one for myself and assisted purchasing a few for some fellow coworkers so they can get set up for working at home. It's a simple lap top, great for streaming and going online for teleworking and writing documents . The negative is its can not multitask too many open websites, documents and programs. Keep it simple, use it for 1 or 2 things at the same time and you'll be fine. Do not expect to do any video editing, not going to happen. With all that being said its a nice little laptop just a step above a tablet only with a keyboard.

This is a great little laptop. My company has bought dozens for work-from-home employees, and we have had a good experience with them. They are easy to set up and easy to use. They come with Windows configured to S-Mode (which might be good for some younger, inexperienced users) but we had to disable that to install our corporate software. They are not very powerful, but they are good enough to run Amazon Workspace Client. This was exactly the right tool for what we needed.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 laptop, model number 81VS009GUS, is an entry-level configuration, that ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. If you are experiencing slower than expected performance, even if you have switched out of S-Mode, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

This laptop is okay for simple jobs. Otherwise, it is slow. The position of the power bottom is at where usually the Delete bottom is, which makes it happen often that you turn off your laptop accidently when you actually just want to delete something. After all, this is a cheap laptop, which does its job with the low price.

Purchased to work remotely during pandemic, absolutely critical to be able to keep my job. Screen resolution, speed, memory, etc - everything works fine. Not exceptional but meets expectations so for the price I am very happy with it. Only drawback is that even though the keyboard has big buttons, they are bunched together like on all smaller laptops, making it hard for a banana-hands big guy like me to compose longer messages. Easily remedied by using any cheap wireless full keyboard and mouse combo that you can find pretty much anywhere. Light and portable, the slightly cheaper options would only start cutting out processor speed, memory, etc. If you're on a tight budget and need to be able to have basic access on the go this is a food choice.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop for your mother. Your mother can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. She can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. She can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. She can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Lenovo

If you know anything about computers you would probably already know how slow this will be from the specs alone. Do not purchase if you plan on having more than 1 or 2 tabs open in an internet browser, want to stream, or play any video games. Super light and great for travel if you need to write or for just casually using the internet.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad 1-14 laptop, model number 81VS0001US. It is possible that restoring the computer back to original factory settings may fix the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the Micro-SD card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

I recently purchased this laptop for my 5th grader to do her schoolwork during this e-learning. The set up took about 10 min it talks which is nice that way you don't have to sit there and read through all the instructions. It does make you put a lock code, like your phone so you can access it easier. Battery lasted about 2 days before having to charge. Cons: It lags, lags, lags!! We had it for about a week. We tried everything we could including increasing our wifi speed and nothing! I purchased it brand new to make sure I was getting a good laptop. What normally would take us 2 hours to do, was taking 4 hours and my daughter was getting frustrated all the time. Needless to say I returned it. My Jr. High kid has a Samsung chromebook and it works great. We purchased that one on Black Friday and got an amazing deal for it. We ended up buying the same one even though it was more money than the Lenovo but definitely worth it!

I’ve been puzzling over some of the very negative reviews this computer has gotten… I’m not sure what folks are expecting for a hundred and twenty dollars. But I just did a test of the boot time and it was 45 seconds from switching it on to the desktop, not shabby by any standard. I find it an exceptional bargain at the black Friday price and not bad at the regular price either. It’s a nice balance of hardware, CPU, memory and SSD. The free year of Office 365 is a nice bonus too. It is wonderfully compact and light, just about perfect as a travel laptop.
