Made me stabby
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my kids so they could homeschool during social distancing. Worst. Computer. Ever. I clicked on an icon, and 5 minutes later it would open. Type something in the browser, and go make a cup of coffee in the time it would take to open to the right screen. My kids will be old enough to graduate before they're even able to log in! It's going back tomorrow. To heck with this thing.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 1-14 laptop, model number 81VS0001US, will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop in less than 20-seconds. If you are getting slower boot up speeds, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

BAD... Wait.. actually... AWFUL!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly a sincere waste of money. I bought this laptop today and I already regret it. Incredibly slow and screen quality sucks. I’m surprised it even cost as much as it does. Hopefully I’ll be able to return it and if I can’t I encourage any of you out there thinking of buying this product to look for something else.

It's awful couldn't even use it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know it's not my Wi-Fi or connection to the internet it has slow FPS and it can't run games at all. The speed it works at is like crawling underwater. The graphics are really bad. And it won't stop spamming me with virus threats.

Slower Than Old Dial-Up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have not had such a slow computer since old dial-up days. Takes almost 5 minutes to open YouTube home page. Lose internet connection often. FaceTime and Zoom do not work with this computer, so can not connect with my grandkids on internet. So slow I am not able to search and purchase a new computer on Best Buy website. So Frustrating!

Do not recommend
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the worst purchase I have made. I bought this computer for basic use such as email and to visit some websites for work. The speed is horrible, (worse than dial up from back in the day). Strongly do NOT recommend. Spend the extra money and get something better. This laptop shouldn’t even be allowed to be sold.

Honestly the worst laptop I have ever bought
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know at the price it was not going to be the fastest, but this thing SUCKS. I have 100MB internet speed and this laptop could not even play youtube videos without buffering and freezing. I don't know if this is the amd processer or the entire laptop? Either way it is going back.

Ideapad 1 review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this computer for my second semester of college, because I was using a Chromebook for the first and I wanted to upgrade to a bigger screen. When I first got the computer it was working just fine, but then when I went to download the required apps I needed in order to attend my online classes it wouldn't let me install them. After finding a way to attend my meeting from a link that my professor had sent me the laptop started lagging and taking forever to load up anything I clicked on. I thought it could possibly be the schools Wi-Fi but that isn't the case here, because the Wi-Fi is exceptional. At first I tried defragmenting my hard drive to see if that would do some good but that proved false. I even tried reset the thing entirely, but that held little to no resolve for my loading issues.

I’d give a 0 but I can’t...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the worst computer I’ve ever used. I may as well be using a first generation iPhone. You can only run Microsoft approved* apps on Windows 10-S and once you disable it you can’t enable again. What?! It’s 2020!! AND once you disable it, becomes the computer that Zach Morris wrote love letters to Kelly Kapowski on. It’s Stone Aged. Can’t toggle between open tabs (on the unapproved* google chrome extension I have to have for work). 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

!!!BUYER BEWARE!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As other reviews state, this computer is just a $200+ paper weight. Bought it for my mother for some light web-browsing. But it barely has enough processing power to boot-up let alone load up a website. I attempted to return it and they had the audacity to offer me $5 for a trade-in!!! Meanwhile they have this machine over on their racks for $200+. Completely dissatisfied with this product and their "customer service". STAY AWAY! IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

Buying a laptop should be easy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I show up to the store to find out its appointment only. Fine, i go back home to complete an online purchase and go to curbside pick up. Come to find out the laptop is defective and now to return it I have to set another appointment and the soonest one is a couple days out. Whether I return it or exchange it, probably the last time I purchase anything from best buy. Shouldve just got it from amazon like I originally thought.

Keep in mind that the IdeaPad 1-14 ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Here is a link to instructions for switching from Windows 10 S-Mode to Windows 10 Home:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4456067/windows-10-switch-out-of-s-mode. If Windows 10 S-Mode is not the issue, then it is possible that resetting the computer back to original factory settings may fix the issue. Here is a link to instructions for resetting your Windows 10 computer back to original settings:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12415. If you can not properly boot the computer to restore it, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the Micro-SD card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
