Posted .We hope that the issues you were having with your Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop have all been resolved by now. If not, the IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop is an entry-level configuration. It ships with the Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Even if you have switched out of S-Mode, Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Great IdeaPad for grandson.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lap will be less than a video game which is better for my grandson to use it for school work and his science and his growing interest in research. He is 8 years old. Handsome little guy. I just thought I might add that last sentence.

Affordable Value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very light, purchase this machine strictly for basic school and computing stuff. Only one complaint I have so far is I cannot put maximum brightness when computer is not plugged-in, Maybe I just cannot figure it out but that's the only problem I've encountered so far.

I give it a huge thumbs down
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was the very first laptop I've ever purchased in my life and I'm sad to say I am completely disappointed. Within two days of purchasing the laptop a piece between the keyboard and the monitor which looks to be put in place to cover the inside components of that area, somehow just broke off when I opened my laptop. It wasn't dropped, damaged, or mishandled at all, I literally just opened my laptop and it seemed to jam midway and as I maneuvered the laptop to open completely that piece just broke off. It runs slow too, I have high speed home internet, therefore, I shouldn't be experiencing any lags when I'm using my laptop. I work from home for Fidelis and my laptop is my livelihood so having these problems, especially this soon after purchasing it, not only scares me but it makes very upset that I threw $300 down the drain. This really ruined my first experience buying my own laptop and has also made me feel as though I wasted my money because now I wish I had made a different selection.

Nice
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought online because I saw the ratings were good. I know it wasn't the fault of anyone, but i wished I'd known it doesn't read SD cards nor does it have a CD ROM drive. I thought all computers had both. Guess I was wrong! O well.... It's still a good computer.

Posted .Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop for your daughter. You can keep this computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help

Agonizingly slow, even for an ultra-cheap machine
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You'd think a $120 Windows laptop couldn't possibly be a bad deal, but this one may be. It's beyond slow--it's glacial, even for the most basic tasks, like browsing a single Web page. I don't know if it can handle video chatting, because I can't get it to even sign on to Zoom, it seems to lack the processing power to handle the login. I have a six-year-old Windows laptop that was slow and cheap at the time, but it's faster than this one. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what use I could find for it. I'll probably just store it as a last-ditch emergency backup computer if there are no other options.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 1-14 laptop, model number 81VS0001US, ships with 5G, 802.11AC frequency WiFi, which is up to 3X faster than standard 802.11n WiFi. If you can no longer boot the computer, resetting the computer back to original factory settings may fix the issue. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the left side of the device, right near the Micro-SD card slot on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have the computer reset to original settings, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key.
