The description said it came with a year of Microsoft office included but I only got a one month free trial.

My only issue was the s-mode but you can take it off and it runs fine. I use it for schoolwork and it's a decent inexpensive computer. Gets the job done.

You can keep this computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". Not sure if its a connection issue on my end but, was quite disappointed at the speed of which I can retrieve information. Sometimes I'll wait for my laptop to load 2-3 minutes. Other than that once its up and running its ok.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop is an entry-level configuration, but it should not take 2 minutes or longer to load a compatible file or program. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

It has good speed. The only problem is the camera. I can get on zoom meetings but I can't broadcast or it may crash. Overall, it's good.

Sub-par laptop

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The AMD based processor is usually a really good mobile processor that will handle any process you throw at it but this pc struggled with 4gb’s of ram. I simultaneously bought an HP stream with a lower Intel processor And it was a far more efficient machine that this laptop. I would only recommend it if you have internet edge based programs as Windows home mode S will not allow you to download ANYTHING other than ms store approved apps. Home mode s is supposedly relatively easy to switch over but it requires you to go into the ms store and deactivate mode S. HOWEVER when I would go into the “ms store” it would give me an error stating the app was invalid and I needed a new link to app but you’re not able to access the powershell, even with admin access, and edit any code. I originally bought it for my 9 year old daughter to do homework with but since we couldn’t download zoom or chrome, the laptop was utterly useless.
