It's nothing fancy, but then I wasn't expecting it to be. Took a little bit to figure out what it's limitations are and overall it does everything we need it to. I could tell it was a bit flimsy and easily broken. Case in point it got knocked off our tiny nightstand and the charger broke off with a piece stuck in the port. Now we are waiting a month to have it fixed and returned. It was the laptop suggested to me by the salesman and I believe it was a good buy for the price.

Bought this for my wife to work from home. Needed something that was available and inexpensive. She uses VMWare from home. And office 365. Added a second monitor. It meets the need. Some have complained about it being slow or freezing. Manage the start up applications and it works well. Remove some of the bloatware. I probably would have spent another $100 and gotten more RAM and an SSD model, but this was available. And, again, it meets the need very well.

This Chromebook offers lots of value and it pouches above its weight. I purchased this for an elderly couple and it was fairly easy for them to set up and use. Works great for typing letters, browsing email, watching movies/videos and doing pretty much any simple administrative functions or accessing social media sites. If you plan to edit photos on this, don't bother as it will not handle the large files efficiently.

I had never owned a Lenovo before and didn't know what to expect. But learning to use it has been relatively easy and I am now using it daily. I gave it 4 stars because I don't really know how good it is. If we had a strong internet connection it would probably be a 5 star. There are some differences from my old computer that have required me to relearn certain ways of doing things. I think it is an excellent computer and look forward to learning more.

Purchased three of these for our business. Decent product but not the quickest laptop to boot up. And I found the initial version of Windows that has limited functionality for "security" purposes very annoying. You are able to turn that off, but it should be off by default. Let us the consumer turn it on if we want. It is not the laptop I went to get, but that one seems to no longer be available. I would say if you are just doing basic online web browsing and no heavy work, then this is fine. If you intend to use a lot of programs then this is not for you. One positive is the lightweight size of the device. This is just a tad bit above average,

I purchased this for my child to be able to do her online school work. For a new computer seems to be slower than I would have hoped. Also, I was disappointed to see it does not have an ethernet outlet to hardwire connectivity. That was my oversight though for not having seen it in the details, I just assumed as my previous 3 laptops I’ve owned that it would have that feature. Overall for the price and what it is needed for it does its job.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop for your children. You can keep this computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo

Pros. Great for portability: light, long battery life (I easily get over a day between charges), built to take it on the road or to meetings (Zoom, of course), large easy-to-read screen, finds Wi-Fi Hot-Spots quickly. Con: Windows 10. I knew from the start that Windows 10 was asking a lot of this machine. After using Windows for a while, I confirmed it: The machine is slow with Windows. How to speed up tasks without changing the machine? Install a "light" operating system, like Ubuntu (what I did), or one of the other fine Linux distributions, and things start improving. Rely on the cloud for storage, and this turns out to be an awesome unit for not much money. This is not a dig on Windows; Windows is carrying a lot of baggage trying to be backward compatible with previous releases. I use Windows 10 on my other machines, and need it. If you are reluctant to try Linux, and want to stay with Windows, I recommend looking for Lenovo machines with stronger specs.

I am retired and wanted a kitchen computer for paying my bills, watching youtube, doing chrome casts to TV, reading and writing email, etc - basically all fo the easy stuff. Machine is great for those tasks. The amount of memory available, processing speed, and disk space are great for thest types of uses. I still use my old desktop for memory, both processing and storage, intesive applications like manipulating photos in photo shop, doing an occasional statistical analysis, etc. It's just faster. The one problem that I have and with this laptop is the sensitivity of the mouse pad. My hands are not exceptionally larg but it seems like the muscle under my thumbs set off the pad as if I had intentially clicked on it. I do not like that lack of a right and left pad for telling the computer what to do. I have bought a bluetooth mouse - and have no more problems. Overall, I am very satisfied - especially for the price. It iw well worth it - but, don't assume that it is a replacement for a large desktop.

If you’re looking for a basic, lightweight laptop This is a great choice. It even comes with Microsoft Office. It boots quickly and is surprisingly responsive. Windows S mode means any software must be installed from the Microsoft store. This can be turned off but with less than 64GB of storage on board you won’t be installing a lot anyway.
