- Cons mentioned:Slow
Don’t waste your money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very slow and if it’s in your lap after a minute it’s hot. Don’t waste your money on this computer. I thought it would be ok just to surf the internet or read a book. Not even fast enough. It’s not my internet either because I also purchased another laptop that runs great so you get what you pay for. Should have just paid the extra $200 more to get a working computer. Even opening word takes minutes to load. Then you type five words and only two letters have shown up and you are waiting for the rest to load.

Posted .The entry-level Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14 Laptop, model number 81VS009GUS, will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop in less than 40-seconds. If you are getting slower than expected performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

It does what I need it to do
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I bought this computer, I intended it to be a second computer for a specific purpose. I turned off the S-Mode and installed a couple of communication software packages that I need to use this computer for. I have no complaints. I think that if you are realistic about what you plan to use this computer for, it will get the job done.

Absolutely Useless
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for remote learning for an elementary-school child - so incredibly slow it cannot be used, and of course the return window has just passed. Nothing on there but a browser, but it freezes Google Meets constantly. It takes almost a full minute to boot up (in 2020!), probably 20 seconds to load a webpage. I tested the Wifi - signal is strong and it's super high-speed. Without the ability to consistently run a video meeting (literally the only thing it is being asked to do) at 125Mbps , it is a $200 paperweight.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this with the hopes that a 'lighter than laptop' option might be nice. It was indeed. However, The very small storage drive, and less than speedy (for my needs) processor prompted me to return the item

Horribly slow
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for a basic laptop to use for internet access for my security cameras. This was so slow it took the better part of a day to download the free antivirus software. Unfortunately I bought it before I read all the negative reviews about how slow it was. The replies say “it’s a beginner’s laptop” are hardly an accurate reply. If this is a beginner laptop I cannot imagine anyone wanting to get into computing. I guess I got what I paid for and I won’t make that mistake again. Thankfully BestBuy let me return it.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 1-14 Laptop, model number 81VS0001US, ships with a 30-day trial of McAfee Virus Protection software installed. If you installed another virus protection software without first uninstalling McAfee software, you will cause compatibility issues on your computer, like you describe.
