    Love Love Love! Great Buy

I followed a friend to help her pick out a laptop after she left her Surface in China. We were looking for something small and she can use for basic email, surfing and Trading. This little beauty caught my eye immediately and it was on sale for a very cheap price. She got it and I was sooo excited for her. She's not very computer savvy so I set it up which was a breeze and put on all the programs she loves and needs. In the process I, who did not need a laptop at all fell in love. Its fast, super light, like air and sooo cute! I had to find some morally good reason to get one! So I went back and got it for my younger brother for school. I stilllll want one for myself even though i have a big gaming laptop and 2 tablets (windows and android) *sighs* I love it. Get it if you want something light, cute, fast for basic computer needs

This little laptop isn't terrible per say but if you forget the passcode/password then its good as garbage. so when my mother passed, I'm not able to get back into my laptop because i let her use it and don't know her password. Tried resetting the password but Microsoft says im giving the incorrect answers and when i contacted Microsoft about the issue they said since my mom is dead they won't give me any info that the account has to go inactive for 2 years before the account is deleted then i can get into MY computer. its the only one of the Lenovo laptops that is this way. its trash don't buy it!!

Limited Memory and Storage affects functionality

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As light, beautiful, and well-priced as this laptop was, unfortunately I had to return it in just 10 days because after the firs few days it simply was not functional for my basic needs. A few days after I got it web pages began to get hung and time-out while opening and multitasking began to visibly slow down the system. Not knowing what was causing this I called my internet service provider and during troubleshooting we found out that a major Windows 10 update download was going on in the background and unlike in the past, this update is now automatic and the user cannot stop it or change its settings in any way. So this background activity was severely slowing down the wifi availability for anything else and also by day 8 the 30 gigs of disk space out of the 32 that the system comes with were taken up by this download hence multitasking was triggering a "low memory" prompt. All in all, this was a beautiful laptop with a great price but it simply was not functional even for the basic tasks I needed to perform on it. Now, I did not check if the system allows for expansion of the memory and disk space but for those interested that may be an option.

    Lenova should be ashamed

They need to remove this product from the market and recall the units sold to suckers like me. Windows 10 Home 64 bit barely runs on 2 GB RAM and some of this is shared with the display so 74% is in use before you launch any practical application. Forget multi-tasking. Swapfile is very busy when you try to do anything. Memory is cheap and there is NO EXCUSE for less than 4 GB. It is NOT upgradable. The 32 GB solid state drive was 60% utilized by the factory installation and first batch of updates. Now there is not enough space leftover for Windows Update to download the version 1709 upgrade despite removing everything I can. My Windows Update log is FULL OF FAILS! Memory is cheap and there is NO EXCUSE for less than 64 GB. It is NOT upgradable. I am seriously considering a reformat to LINUX because it is worthless as a Windows platform.

You get what you pay for

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this laptop on sale at $169. I really wanted to like this computer because it's affordable, very light, meets all of my basic computing needs (web browsing and word processing), and it's NOT a chromebook, but rather fully functional laptop (with limited storage which is easily remedied by purchasing a microSD card). But after less than one month of use, the battery will not charge past 47%. The battery icon on the Start Menu indicates that the laptop is plugged in but it does not charge. The battery is perpetually at 47% (unless I allow it to go lower by working on battery power). This truly defeats the purpose of having a laptop with a long battery life, which this was touted to have. I've researched the issue online but no troubleshooting seems to work in my case. Unfortunately, I am past the return window at Best Buy and I opted not to pay for an additional warranty (which was nearly the price of the computer itself) so I am stuck with a faulty laptop. Note: I already returned this same laptop model before because the first version I bought had a defective keyboard which seemed to be an isolated issue. You truly do get what you pay for.

Know what you are buying and you will be most happy with this laptop. I needed something light weight, good keyboard, matte screen and decent ports. This model matches all those, adds a license for Office and looks nice. It is my prime computer now for it is silent, screen has no glare and the keyboard feels great for my hands. I use it primarily for email, Office (Excel/Word) and web site maintenance. The cost at $129.00 was very comfortable. Enjoy.

My tablet somehow fell and broke itself when I fell asleep using it so I had to replace it. The problem I ran into is that tablets no longer have hdmi like mine did so I looked for the next smallest computers and most do have hdmi. I didn't want to spend a small fortune and luckily Best Buy had several options in my price range that were small and affordable with hdmi. Have been very satisfied and am able to connect to my big monitor which solves my problem.

    Returned it after two weeks

I wanted a laptop for use in my craft room. Just needed something to run a program or two and surf the web. I didn't want to spend a lot since I wouldn't be using it a lot. After a few weeks with this laptop, I returned it due to slow performance. I understand that a laptop this cheap is not going to be fast, but it was so laggy that it made using it unbearable. For the price (I paid $120 on sale), it's totally worth it, but you have to realize it's going to be slow to do... well, anything.

This is a great computer for just about anyone. If you are an aerospace engineer at NASA designing spacecraft you will need a bit more computing power. For the rest of us this is a very nice laptop that will do everything we need a computer for. From web browsing, email, watching YouTube and Netflix, or doing high school and college homework, this computer is great.

If you need is a small PC for surfing the internet & doing cloud based work, this is ok. As has been stated in other reviews its a very poor laptop for offline work. Windows takes up over 75% of the 32GB of memory. So if you have programs you want to put on the machine be very careful with your space utilization. Pass on this PC.

Worst laptop I've owned and awful customer service

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I cannot stress enough how problematic this machine has been. Sadly, I bought this machine and left the US soon thereafter so my warranty was useless. First off, the hard drive was defective. I contacted customer service and (1) some reps didn't speak English well; (2) they have a script and were not able to divert from it; (3) took 5 calls to finally talk to a supervisor to try and get recovery media which they were unable to provide. I changed the hard drive to an SSD, yet the fan stills revs nearly all the time and the battery life is a little over an hour. I've turned off all non-essential background processes but to no avail. This machine is actually much slower than the one I'm replacing, even though the processor is supposedly much better. It was cheap, initially, but I had to replace the drive and I imagine I'll have to replace the whole machine soon because I cannot have a machine with such crummy processing power and TERRIBLE battery. I recommend spending a few extra bucks for a better machine unless you don't need it to do much.

    Great value, when it works...

This would be the perfect laptop for my purposes. I have a large iMac at home, but I am on an away rotation for 3 months and just need something that I can get online and do research/studying with so this would be great. It looks great, is very light, and has a great screen, keyboard, and trackpad. When it works, it is wonderful. However, the WI-FI hardly ever works. I need to constantly restart the laptop and "troubleshoot" the wi-fi adapter to get it to sustain a connection. Most of the time the troubleshooter says that there is something wrong with the router and that it can't fix the problem, but my phone has no problem with the wi-fi. It then asks for feedback on the troubleshooter. When I try to leave feedback it says I need to be connected to the internet, but obviously I can't since the troubleshooter doesn't work... I've had this for less than a week and will be returning it within the next couple days. Bottom line: great price for a a laptop if you are looking for something portable for internet and light tasks only. But only great when it works...

With regard to the WiFi connectivity issues you mention with your device, there may be Wireless LAN driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. You can do this by just typing "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point. Here is the link:

I am a student and was planning to use this laptop for school work. I read the great reviews online and it was on sale, so I decided to give it a try. Sadly, it did not meet my expectations. Below is MY experience with the laptop, which may vary from person to person. PROS -lightweight and portable -appealing white color -comfortable keyboard and matte screen -great for just surfing the web CONS - Poor connectivity with home Wifi - constantly disconnects. - MS Edge/IE browser was slow. So I decided to download Google Chrome, which says it will take 2 hours to download. I tried to download it many times, but the download never finished. - Trouble activating Microsoft Office 365. It also did not even offer 1-year subscription. It says it will end on November 29, 2017, which is less than 1 year from June 2017, at the time of purchase.
