You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Only a few issues, some sites make my computer flash for some reason. It doesn't happen often but has it's moments. Computer is fast, and actually surprised for how cheap this computer is that it is a good computer. The main problem is the edges. They are sharp so when typing your arm rubs on the sharp edges leaving marks on your arm. I ordered pads from amazon that stick on the computer eliminating the sharp edges. Not the end of the world just be prepared.

I'm only a beginner and know I'll need a more powerful laptop in the future but for now, I am having a lot of fun with it. It responds fast and the downloads are seamless. I would have rather have one with an Intel4 or higher processor, but this one is doing what I need it to do and then some. I guess I can say I am happy and satisfied with my Lenovo IdeaPad!

Very functional laptop

Two stand out especially. First the S-mode thing on windows was a headache! Secondly, I can't get it to print properly. It prints in the negative... weirdest thing I ever saw.

Only thing I had to remove the S from the Windows 10S as it would not let me download some of the apps like Zoom since now working from home. Runs fast, only drawback at all is the camera is not that clear with using apps like Zoom but works well enough that not a big problem.

I understand it is a power saver but don’t like it. Fooled around with settings. The security prevents the downloading of apps that aren’t Microsoft. I got out of it but not a good idea.

Posted .Regarding changing the power management settings to prevent the screen from dimming when on battery: Go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Power Options. Click on Change plan settings next to your active power plan. Click on Change advanced power settings. Scroll down to Display, then under Enable adaptive brightness, switch it off for both the battery and plugged in modes. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Gets the job done, good price

Powerful enough for basic use (Microsoft word, zoom, online classes, etc.). The webcam quality is really low, but it is good enough for proctored exams online (I used it for an exam with examplify AI proctoring with no issues). The housing feels a little cheap (just plastic) and the power button is on the keyboard which is a little odd/inconvenient. However, the keyboard works well and feels sturdy. The screen resolution is also good. Overall, it gets the job done and seems decently powerful especially for the price.
