It works well for that purpose, although the battery does not last as long as he would like. I did not test it with any games, but I doubt it could handle anything too intense. We had some issues with S mode, but that is because of Microsoft and not the laptop itself. S mode can be switched out of pretty easily.

As to the product itself, I would have liked to have more USB ports...requires using USB hub to connect printer(s) wireless mouse. I should have paid more to get more posts, but the laptop is otherwise great for the price.
