    Watch out for S-mode and Lenovo updates

    I liked the fact it had keys on a light background so they were easier to see. I liked that it was heavier than my previous laptop so it didn't slide around. Those 2 statements are the only good things I can say. We started them up at 8pm and switched out of S mode after installing updates. Worked fine, until the next morning. Lenovo had 7 more updates to install. It took an hour to install them, then another hour to install the windows 11 repair it required. When I started it up, it was back in S mode. Unable to switchit out of S mode. Kept freezing. Called Lenovo. 2 hours later I was told they could not be fixed. Tried to reset to factory setting, unable to do that. Tried to get back to Lenovo (the "L" on the computer), white page with the circle running around, and around, and around for over an hour. At 2pm I returned them both. Useless.

    This could be a good review, but this laptop has had the same "known issue" with wifi connectivity for 2-1/2 years, according to reviews and blogs specific to Lenovo Ideapads. The wifi connection is there, then it's gone (taking bluetooth with it), then it's back. (My phone and printer have no issue; this is not the wifi signal. It's Lenovo and its Realtek wifi card.) The Microsoft troubleshooter identifies the Realtek wifi card as the problem. Lenovo's support is present -- after discarding my first inquiry as "resolved" without making any effort to actually contact me or do anything. Second problem ticket got me some suggestions that didn't work. A phone call did the same. A third problem ticket got me an offer to send off this new laptop, and be without it for about a month while Lenovo pretends it doesn't already know what's causing this issue. I have not yet decided what to do with this thing. It works for long enough to pay bills, but virtual chats with a hospitalized relative are troublesome when the wifi disconnects at random. And I do feel as though I'm a bit at risk opening a site to pay a bill, if the wifi connection drops while I'm still signed in.

      Hey mattinlancaster, we're sorry to hear that you're having such trouble with your IdeaPad. Since we do not know the details of what troubleshooting tips were shared with you, we'll share some that cover the basics, and we'll see if this helps. To help resolve this issue, we recommend following these troubleshooting steps: 1. Perform a static discharge/power cycle. To do so, first remove all cables connected to the device (power adapter, HDMI, external mouse, external keyboard, etc.). 2. Be sure device is powered off, then. press and hold the power button down for 60 seconds. When done, re-attach all cables and insert the power adapter, letting the laptop charge for a couple minutes, then power up the machine as usual. 3. Try to update the drivers on the Lenovo Support site: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/. Type the machine serial number (S/N) on the search bar. Hit enter to search the details regarding that unit. Click on the Drivers and Software tab, head to the Manual Update tab. Filter for Networking, then proceed to download and update the drivers to the latest version available. Restart your laptop when updates are done. Please let us know if this helps. If not, your next step may be to restore your system from a factory image.     Not Worth It

    I really wanted to like this device but it not worth it. Returned it twice. The sound from the speakers are terrible. Even at 100% it was not loud. Audio while streaming is distorted and lagging. Screen resolution is very pixely. Battery is horrible didn't even last 3 hours after fully charged.

    Very Disappointed

    I bought this laptop as a Christmas gift for my mom and it constantly keeps dropping the internet, saying the drivers are not updated. I tried to update the driver, but it wouldn’t work. Taking this laptop back and getting my money back.

    Died after 7 hours of use

    I used this laptop a total of 7 hours. I noticed the battery depletes very quickly if not plugged in and it was getting warm on the bottom. I put two apps on it in addition to Microsoft 365. I turned it off at 39% battery and a few hours later it wouldn’t turn on. I plugged the charging cable into the computer WITHOUT IT BEING PLUGGED INTO THE OUTLET. There was a sparking sound and a smell like fireworks. I still tried to charge it and it won’t turn on. I obviously got a dud but I’m extremely unhappy with the quality of this laptop.

    DON’T BUY THIS LAPTOP

    Worked great for the first year keep in mind I barely ever used it and decided to completely die after 5 months of my warranty expiring. So the laptop only lasted 1 year and 5 months after buying it before it stops charging completely and no I don’t mean a battery issue I mean it won’t even accept a charge at all the light won’t come on or nothing. I’ve done everything to diagnose the issue and it seems motherboard related and also seems to be a common issue. Don’t waste your money like I did, Lenovo is terrible.

    Horrible computer

    I purchased from best buy and used it two days. This computer kept shutting off. When i took it to geek squad. They said it was the motherboard. I ask could I replace the computer and they told me no they had to ship it off to ghe manufacturer.

    Horrible. horrible. horrible. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap. It feels cheap when you type, winds up like a 1990’s laptop and warmed my countertop with all the fans spinning as if it’s a drone instead of a laptop. I’m returning this item as soon as the store opens and it’s official… Mac is the boyfriend that no other piece of technology can replace.

    Malfunctioning Junk

    Absolute junk. Bought this today and the cursor is perma-stuck at the start menu constantly hammering it and clicking everything. Cannot fix. What a disappointment.
