An i3 core processor and 8GB memory is not quite an impressive combination but you will not be dispointed as long as you do not operate large memory-consuming software. The color design is quite good, deep sea blue looks really fascinating and the touch is pretty solid, a mosaic polish. It boots up really fast for now, I think it is because it is a new PC. I used to have X1 and Y70, both slowed down after one or two years. But for a PC like this, it is supposed to be replaced every few years.

This processor is supported by 8GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM and a 256GB M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0x2 NVMe solid state hard drive. For internet connectivity, the IdeaPad 3 15 ships with wide-range/high speed 2 x 2 802.11ac frequency WiFi. If you are experiencing slower than expected performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Good quality at a good price. I am not techy and had my computer guy transfer all my data but what he told me about One Drive I probably could have figured it out myself. Pay extra (it was like $200) for the added features. I don't like to knock another product but HP was my last lap top and this was recommended to me as longer lasting and better for what I do for work.

Battery life is adequate at about 6 hours. No operating problems, so far. It has 3 PS2 ports, an HDMI port, a chip reader, and an earphone jack. That's sufficient for my use. The only downside is the color. Initially, out-of-the box the colors were faded and the pictures on Zoom were horrible. I found a utility in the settings that allowed me to re-calibrate the color spectrum. That helped the problem, but don't expect much when editing pictures.

This model has a 15.6 inch (screen size measured diagonally) TN - HD (1366x768) 10-point Multi-touch screen, with a brightness level of 220 nits and has an Anti-glare coating. For the best screen image quality, be sure auto-brightness/adaptive brightness is turned off. To turn off adaptive brightness on Windows 10, press the Windows key + I keyboard shortcut to open the Settings app, then click on the System category. Select the Display menu on the left. On the right, uncheck the “Change brightness automatically when lighting changes” option.

It is the perfect size for doing school work and just browsing the web. I bought two of these because they were on sale and for a very great price at Best Buy. My girlfriend and I are in college so we needed a serious upgrade for online classes because of Covid 19. I love how this laptop is very fast and has a huge storage! Def buy!!
