Lenovo IdeaPad 3 a winner

I like the dedicated power in jack. Doesn't take up a USB port. Everything works fine. I went from Windows 10 S-mode to Windows 11 Home immediately. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard (Logitech). I like the Settings hotkey which brings up the Settings menus without any extra fuss. I don't have 30 years experience with computers, but this one is a winner for me.

I will need more time with it to see if I can give this an excellent rating. At this point I have no reason to think it will not continue to be a strong laptop computer. In this price point, I think it would be hard to find a laptop that overly outperforms this product. I do wish it had a type C connection that allows it to be set up with a docking station that can have multiple monitors.

There is 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (support data transfer only) port on this computer and 1x HDMI 1.4b port with video out to an external monitor. This IdeaPad 3 15 supports up to 2 independent displays (native display and 1 external monitor via HDMI). HDMI supports up to 4K@30Hz. She knows little about computers and thus only needed a moderate PC, not a really powerful one. This seems to fit her needs well. !2 GB or memory is good, better than the 8GB that so many laptop makers seem to be putting in many of their machines. Both the memory and the SSD can be upgraded if you wish. The touch screen is a nice bonus.

Because my software is not 11 compatible, I chose 10. Off the bat I had to take it out of Windows S mode to go to Lenovo's website and update the Bios and drivers ( yep already a bios update) My only wish is that the keyboard was back lit to make it easier in dimmer rooms but beyond that, so far it has been a nice laptop.

To activate the backlighting, hold down the Fn Key and tap the Spacebar at the same time: Once to turn on the backlighting, twice to increase the backlight intensity and three times to turn off the backlighting.
