Because my software is not 11 compatible, I chose 10. Off the bat I had to take it out of Windows S mode to go to Lenovo's website and update the Bios and drivers ( yep already a bios update) My only wish is that the keyboard was back lit to make it easier in dimmer rooms but beyond that, so far it has been a nice laptop.

To activate the backlighting, hold down the Fn Key and tap the Spacebar at the same time: Once to turn on the backlighting, twice to increase the backlight intensity and three times to turn off the backlighting.

It did not come with Windows 11, but Windows 10, it may update soon for free. Performance-wise is more than adequate for every day tasks and even light gaming. We use it for CAD software and we do not have any issues. The screen could be a little bit better, but the rest of the specs make up for it, considering it sale price.

From price, weight, size and all the functions it is just perfect for me. So much faster than my HP. The only 2 things I wish my Lenovo had was the self cleaning/diagnostics installed for free and a longer life to the battery (only 4 hours). This does have the capability, but it through a Lenovo subscription and costs a monthly fee.

You can keep your computer running at its best by regularly scanning your computer with Lenovo Vantage Software, then installing any updates your system needs. Just search for Lenovo Vantage within the Windows 11 Search Windows. This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 82H801DQUS, ships with a Integrated 45Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 7 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 11 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://websiteforstudents.com/how-to-find-what-is-running-in-windows-11/. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 11. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of your Windows 11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If you have Microsoft Office, it is very easy to link to your account. I stream a lot of Netflix, Hulu, etc. The picture if very clear-a big improvement from my last laptop. The touch screen is a nice bonus. The computer is set to only access the Microsoft store/apps but you can easily switch modes.

Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. On Gaming average Minecraft:112fps, Fortnight:93fps, Raid shadow legends:86fps.12gb of ram is my favorite part of this laptop, it's fast it's bold. For battery 1.6 hours for gaming,4.8 hours on normal work,7.5 hours of video watching, Lenovo promised 10 hours of battery life at the highest.
