Flawed Touchscreen Feature

It works very well and is much lighter than my HP; however, the touchscreen doesn't always work. As I am typing this review, I am not able to use the touchscreen feature. Other than this flaw, all other features are great especially speed, storage capacity, battery life, and vivid screen. Touchscreen is a personal preference and a feature I'm used to having) which is why I gave it 3 stars. I'd rather retrain my brain to not touch the screen than to pack it up and return it. I do recommend because it is a good laptop overall; just beware that the touchscreen may be flawed/inconsistent.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the touch screen on your Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 82H801DQUS. Be sure to check that the touch screen feature has not been inadvertently turned off within Windows 11. Here is a link to information about checking whether the touch screen feature has been turned off in Windows 11: https://www.howtogeek.com/763793/how-to-disable-touchscreen-in-windows-11/#:~:text=In%20Device%20Manager%2C%20locate%20Human,really%20want%20to%20disable%20touchscreen. If the feature has not been turned off, but the touch screen still does not function, now check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 11 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 11, including those files that control the touch screen feature. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 11. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Would be nice if it has USB-C charging, but that's a minor complaint. Touchscreen works great, it's fast and does everything I need it to.

Windows 11 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. The shell is plastic and tends to snap apart, we are constantly having to snap it back together. I suppose its a good computer for the money, but I would spend more to get a more durable case next time

Display is decent, not super bright but has a nice matte coating to reduce glare. Mine came with windows 10, gonna hold off on upgrading. Surfing the web is quick

Good but then not so good

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop is great value - there are cheaper builds available but you have to make compromises with the processor, RAM, hard drive, etc. On the flip side, there better spec'd machines out there but I feel like you start hitting diminishing returns pretty quickly. The i5 processor with 12 GB of RAM is going to be just fine unless you're a gamer, and if you're a gamer you already knew that. Machine does not have discrete graphics but the Iris Xe is a big step up from integrated graphics in the past so still a win in my book. Not sure why so many other reviewers are having trouble getting out of S-mode - worked first time I tried.
