Inexpensive laptop

Posted .This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 82H801DQUS, does have a backlit keyboard. To activate the keyboard backlighting, hold down the Fn Key and tap the spacebar at the same time: Once to turn on the backlighting, twice to increase the backlight intensity and three times to turn off the backlighting. This model ships with Windows 11 S-Mode, 64-bit Operating System installed. Windows 11 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 11 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Sound issue with apps out of S mode

That’s what I found zoom sound was not great.And you have to purchase an app if you stay in S mode to get on zoom $4.

Bad touch screen

The first one delivered was nice but the touch screen was bad. Sometimes it worked other times it didn't. Tech support said it must be a hardware problem so I returned it. Received the second laptop and it has the same identical problem. Wanted to like them but will have to return this one too.

Poor management, lack of organization

Since the computer was running fast initially, then became slow over time, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10/11. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10/11 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND!

The replacement was bad also. Ended up purchasing an HP laptop that ALSO bad and had to be replaced. The HP i have now also has problems which i have to spend $100 to have Geek Squad out to my home because the tech on your Geek Squad line totally screwed up my laptop.

This model ships with a HD (720p) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter and Dual Array Microphones, built in. If your webcam was functioning properly but now is not, first, check to be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. This model ships with a Integrated 45Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 7 hours depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting less than expected battery life and the webcam is still not functioning properly with the Privacy Shutter opened, resetting this computer back to original factory settings may correct both issues. If for some reason you cannot get to the recovery settings within Windows 11 due to system error, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. Started making a weird noise after a couple months

Came with a charger that didn’t work

I am extremely disappointed in this product and all the BestBuy rep could offer was sending a new charger in the mail over a week later. I spent $500+ on a new laptop that I would expect to be fully functional. Wasn’t even able to use the computer since it comes with little to no battery.

Not happy with Windows 11

The computer is great but I would never buy Windows 11 again. There is no documentation and after two weeks of trying to set it up I am getting an in home visit from the Geek Squad on Monday to try to get my HP 8600 printer recognized. I have no problems with my other 3 computers to recognize this printer. I only bought this computer because my HR Block program to download to Windows 7.

With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. As for the touch screen response time, if this this an issue that has developed since the initial setup of the computer, even if you have switched out of S-Mode, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10/11. Bad experience!

Besides I asked the customer service at best buy how can I use my atudent microsoft office if I buy a new laptop they said I have to pay for this. That is unacceptable! Never going to buy from best buy . It is now best bye!!!

If you are getting less than expected broadcast video quality, check to be sure that the protective film/tape has been removed from the lens of the webcam. This protective film/tape is installed at the factory, to protect the webcam lens during transient and needs to be removed prior to using the webcam. If the protective film/tape has been removed for the webcam lens, now check to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10/11 on the computer. Then update all BIOS files and drivers up to that latest version of Windows 10/11. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10/11. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. The 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (support data transfer only) port does not have video out capability. This IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop supports up to 2 independent displays (native display and 1 external monitor via HDMI), directly connected to the laptop. HDMI supports up to 4K@30Hz.
