Laptop does everything but break the bank

They didn't have this laptop in stock but he told me this was a steal, especially since I was looking for the touch screen feature added. I am glad I listened and trusted to computer expert at Best Buy. Otherwise I would have purchased something far inferior.

Posted .If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on-screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Good, Cheap Chromebook

Price was a factor but the bigger screen was the most important when buying this for my Dad who lightly uses a laptop (emails, facebook, etc). So far it does everything it should, battery life is good, screen is clear, and its pretty fast. Well worth it at the price.

Posted .This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81X800KLUS, ships with the Windows 11 S-Mode, 64-bit Operating System installed and is therefore, not a Chromebook. Windows 11 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 11 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.

New Lenovo Laptop

The new Lenovo laptop that I purchased while I was in Tampa, Florida, has Windows 11. I am quite impressed with how quickly it boots up and shuts down. I am very impressed with it.

Great laptop for a student

I bought this laptop for my daughter who just started high school, so far it has been able to do everything she needs it for, it is also very light weight and has a great battery life.

Seems to be 300 nits or less-- just not enough for a laptop to use every day. I loved how fast it was for a budget laptop-- didn't expect that with the i3 but if you do basic computing, surfing the web, etc. it can handle all that. It's a shame this computer doesn't have an HD screen with decent brightness-- I would have paid more for the same computer with a better screen. Even my Lenovo Chromebook has an HD screen and excellent brightness. I think Lenovo dropped the ball on this one.

Installed MS Office and a couple of more softwares. Didn't slow it down at all. Connected to my Epson printer with no trouble at all. Good work/student machine.

Screen quality is not great for watching high def videos but gets the job done. Don’t expect high performance gaming from this laptop. Does just fine for everyday tasks. Battery life is so so,lasted about 3 hours.

This model also ships with a Integrated 35Wh, Lithium-Polymer Battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 6 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery.
