Posted .Hello, Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Laptop model # 81WE011UUS. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing less than optimal battery life. This unit is rated for Up to 7.5 Hours. If you are getting substantially less battery life, please adjust your screen brightness settings. A setting of 100% brightness will drain your battery much faster than a lower setting. We recommend setting the screen brightness to some value below 100% that is still comfortable for you to view. Next be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. What I like: The screen is sharp and clear, Far less crapware being on the box than some other manufacturers, The unit is much lighter than I envisioned. What I don't like: Touch Screen, I want a way to shut this off. It's really annoying. The keyboard is cheap feeling, but look at the price you paid for the unit. FYI: I use this machine for e-mail, web surfing, MS-Office (word and excel only). Some photo manipulation. I am not a "gamer" . This machine should last me 4 to 5 years.

SSD & 256GB!!! Plus numeric island keys!!!!

I will update my review. My reasons for buying it are for its SSD drive along with its 256GB. My plan is to use my external hard drive that I use now so as not to use up so much that 256GB that will impact the performance of the SSD drive. It has its numeric keypad which is wonderful. How anyone can do serious work on a computer without these island keys is beyond me? This should be a standard on all laptops. Will update once I open it, and start using it for a few weeks.

I believe it is excellent performance for the price and found it can run many of my games well (on lower quality settings than my gaming desktop) in spite of not being marketed for gaming. My one gripe is that the built-in webcam and mic were not functioning. Lenovo's customer service was horrible, but luckily Best Buy was able to facilitate the repairs for me so I didn't have to deal with that. Extremely impressed with Best Buy's service, but will think twice about getting a Lenovo product in the future.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the webcam on your Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81WE011UUS. This model ships with a 720p (HD) webcam with manual Privacy Shutter built in. Be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If the issue continues, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
