It is a good size for me and it has so many features that I am still learning how to do things. I have 2 grandchildren 8 & 9 years old who are helping me as they know so much. It's my first laptop and I have a new desktop but not open yet. I may return the desktop as this laptop meets all my needs. Going to buy laptops for the grandchildren for Christmas!

With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.

Once you get it out of m mode it’s a decent machine for playing retro games on and watching movies and Facebook. That is what I wanted this machine for and it does all that great. 4 stars are because the power cord doesn’t fold up and the cord is too short. I had to buy a drop cord. But it has very good sound for such a cheap beastie. It would have been nice to have a 4th USB port but like I said this was cheapest good laptop I could find.

Since the purchase, I have spoken to the owner of a computer repair/sales shop in my area and was happy to hear he himself owns a Lenova and is impressed by the quality of it. If, like me, it's been a long time since you updated your laptop, you'll want to be aware that a DVD writer is no longer built into laptops, but they are available at a reasonable price.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81WE011UUS, ships with a 2CELL_35WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 7 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
