One thing I did not like is the wonky version of Windows it came with. I wanted to install Zoom, and I had to upgrade to the "real" version of Windows to install it. Other than that, I would recommend this laptop for general productivity usage.

This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available (and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If that is not important to you, then it's great. Very fast, easy to set up, and has some nice features, like Alexa and is very sleek.

A good laptop

I purchased this new laptop to replace my old one which is over 6 years, and what attracted me from this new laptop are the big memory, multiple cores, and the very good deal from Thanksgiving offers. It's starting time is very quick partially due to the SSD drive, and almost no delay during operation. I love it.

That's pretty old and bad. I didn't think I would mind, but I had it next to the Lenovo i3 ($50 cheaper but 1920 x 1080) and the screen quality difference was really glaring. Maybe I wouldn't have minded but all my other cheap laptops were all 1080, so it seems so weird that this i5 would have such an inferior screen. Techie friends said they'd take the better screen i3 than the worse screen i5. So I returned the i5 for the i3. Can't comment on the possible short battery life others have complained about 'cause I didn't really use it, but if true that would bother me too.
