Dont like being obligated to do anything. The computer works great, the problem is Microsoft making u use only their apps what I dont like.

Decent labtop for middle aged folks.

Decent specs for the price , particularly if you can get the student deal.But the touch pad can be a bit finicky. And the casing dirtyas and shows fingerprints easily.

Good laptop for beginners

I have encountered some internal problems ie. e-mails showing but unable to read, problems with the cloud, when I am using Microsoft Solitaire.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 330S-15 laptop, model number 81F5018EUS ships with a 2CELL 30WH, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 7 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting less battery life at optimum battery life settings, be sure there is no incompatible software installed on the computer. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

This was a great laptop for 1 year and 1 week (of course just out of warranty) and certain keys on one side of the keyboard would intermittently stop working. This computer got very light duty use over the past year since I normally work from one of my desktop units unless travelling. I brought it in for service a few weeks after the problem began to occur regularly or when the unit was about 3 weeks out of warranty. Best Buy would give me no grace period for the warranty and wouldn't even take it in for repair unless I came in the next day and had an appointment (there was no one in line at the Geeksquad desk). I was pretty angry about the lack of service, especially not letting me drop it off when I was at the Pleasant Hill, CA store with the unit in my hands. The tech (in my opinion), was not friendly or apologetic and most reasonable people would have considered his attitude as rude. I called Lenovo and they have no factory service available for my model and also no grace period for the warranty. In summary, I am going to huck this in the garbage after I go out and buy a new unit. I can tell you this it won't be a Lenovo and it won't be purchased from Best Buy.
