Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.

Both the Core i3 and I5 versions of this model have an M.2 solid state drive slot, additional memory slot, AND a SATA port for a mechanical or SATA-based SSD. For an additional $175, I've upgraded one to a 500GB M.2 drive, 8GB of memory, and a 1TB standard hard drive, configured for automatic backups. It's also got a great screen and feels solid when typing. Really, you can't go wrong with this model for the money.

I needed a laptop to chart the progress of my patients and this laptop allows me to quickly navigate through the program that I downloaded. I have more than enough memory to hold my work data and if needed add a few research papers with graphics and designs. I'm really happy with my purchase and recommend it to others.

I am hoping it will last him his 4 years of college. It is lightweight and seems to be a perfect fit for him. It has a plastic type of shell and hinges (rather than metal) which I'm sure are going to wear out as it is opened and closed over time. There isnt a cd/dvd tray but I guess those are becoming obsolete anyways and I guess I'm old school. The price was good. No complaints so far.
