Great laptop - but cheap hardware doesn't last

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Of the cheaper laptops on the market, Lenovo is by far better than the Sony, Dell, & HP cheapies I have had in the past. I bought the exact same model from the same store exactly 2 years ago and the hinge & internal charging pin broke from being cheap hardware. We'll see how long this one lasts. Smart to buy the extended warranty because this is a great laptop but cheap for a reason. It WILL break and there's nothing to be done without a warranty- outside PC repair was more expensive than purchasing the same model new again.

A good daily use computer

Christmas Gift Too Early to Tell

I bought as Christmas present for my Mom, so time will tell. I set it up for her and only thing I’m struggling a little with is the Microsoft 11S version. I’m not clear if I still need separate virus protection or not, and in S mode I can’t download the free security suite offered by her internet provider because it’s not a Microsoft application. I’m hoping this will be good enough for her to check emails and do banking.
