The 11th gen i5 processor with 4 cores and 8 threads is powerful enough to do all of my multimedia production (Photoshops and movie editing) especially as I added 16GB RAM to the open memory slot, making it 24GB in total. I haven't experienced any lags. This laptop with Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics GPU does a better job with graphics (video playing, video previews during editing, etc.) than my previous laptop with Intel UHD Graphics GPU. Touch screen comes in handy on occasions. The keyboard and the body are all plastic and I prefer the metal build on my older Lenovo laptop, but because of the plastic materials this laptop is light weight, which is nice. This laptop performs better than the laptops in the same price range with the 12 gen i3 processor. And it outperforms my older Lenovo from 2017. I absolutely recommend it.

I've been using the Lenovo Ideapad 3i for the past two weeks, and I can confidently say it's a fantastic laptop that exceeded my expectations. Here's my detailed review: Performance: The Intel 11th Generation Core i5 processor combined with 8GB of RAM and a blazing-fast 512GB SSD delivers remarkable speed and efficiency. I found the laptop to be exceptionally responsive, handling various business activities with ease. It's perfect for multitasking, and the 2.5 GHz base clock frequency ensures smooth performance even during demanding tasks. Design and Portability: One of the standout features for me is its lightweight and slim design. Weighing just 3.74 pounds and with a thickness of 0.78 inches, it's incredibly portable. The Abyss Blue color adds a touch of style, making it both professional and aesthetically pleasing. Display and Touchscreen: The 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen display is crisp and vibrant, providing an immersive visual experience. The touch functionality is responsive, adding a convenient layer for navigation and interactions. Battery Life: The 12-hour battery life is a game-changer for me. It allows me to work on-the-go without constantly worrying about finding a power source. The lithium-ion polymer battery ensures lasting power throughout the day. Connectivity: The laptop offers a variety of ports, including HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, and a headphone jack. This versatility makes it easy to connect to external devices, enhancing its functionality. Noteworthy Features: Windows 11 Home in S Mode provides a secure and streamlined operating system. The Dolby Audio technology delivers impressive sound quality, enhancing the overall multimedia experience. Privacy is taken seriously with the built-in privacy camera, a valuable addition for virtual meetings and conferences. Limitations: While it excels in business-related activities, it may not be the top choice for gaming enthusiasts due to its integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics. However, for someone like me who doesn't engage in gaming, this isn't a drawback at all. Conclusion: In conclusion, the Lenovo Ideapad 3i is a superb laptop that caters to professionals and individuals seeking a powerful yet lightweight device. Its impressive performance, sleek design, and long-lasting battery make it a reliable companion for business tasks. If you're not into heavy gaming, this laptop is an excellent choice. I initially picked this to replace my aging Surface 3 (surprising its lasted this long) and had to do my initial research on the capabilities of this laptop. Price wise was just at what I wanted (or could only) to buy this. Other options was a HP Pavilion or a cheaper Chromebook build but I wasn't a big fan of those. Just wanted to stick to a Windows OS and this having an 11 version 64 bit (with the S mode built which I disabled), I knew I could work well with this. Good screen size and resolution, nice speakers, just enough outputs for what I need, and responsive touchscreen too. Big deal breaker was the keyboard was not backlit (my old Surface 3 with keyboard cover did!) but I didn't want it to hinder me from getting it. Performance wise I would say it can stack well with higher processing models keeping in mind that I saw this as my value budget build. The i5 is an 11th gen which is a couple years old but I say its still comparable. RAM is 8GB standard (with 4GB soldered) so one of the first things I did after a month owning this is bump it up to 16GB with another 8GB. Made a difference. Probably next is go 2TB on the SSD but that's down the road. I have been doing some gaming with this and pretty surprised it can run good games on it. Don't expect to run full gas on some games (tried Ghost Recon Wildlands and it staggers). If you're looking for a value budget laptop, I'd say this is a candidate.

I got this because I was in a pinch. I really needed a laptop that I could take around with me as I travel a lot. I especially needed one with an SD card slot (I work with photos, videos and audio a lot). Here are the reasons I think this was good. The goods: This fit all those needs. The price was well within reach of my budget, and the size was not too small that I have enough screen real estate to work on projects. But also not too big that I would need a huge backpack to carry this with. The weight is of the laptop feels good, and I say this because I’ve had several laptops in the best. Some laptops felt too light that it feels like you can break it just putting it in your bag. This laptop felt good to carry around outside the bag (with lids closed) without feeling like I might break the screen if I gripped too tight. It also felt light enough to carry in my backpack that I can still carry some gear with me and not feel like I have the weights of bricks (17.3” laptops and MbPros tend to feel like that over time). The build quality feels really solid, especially the screen lid. For a touch screen display, I was really worried it would feel cheap. But don’t let the affordable price fool you. this laptop feels good. It’s fast performance, solid build quality and all the essential port connectivities for any content creator, videographer, or producer are all here. (USB, HDMI, USB C AND SD SLOT!) Now on the bads (why I basically knocked off the 2 stars): With all the specs and memory in this laptop, you would think it can handle simple tasks really good. But beware. Maybe I have a defective one or something in this laptop just isn’t working right. The unit I bought is the i5-11th Gen. Extreme web browsing (tabs in the close 20s and multiple windows of browser) this thing will blow you away. Switching between all the tabs I needed was so smooth and so seamless I couldn’t believe this was a budget laptop. I was working on a book and doing my research hence why I needed versatility. Browsing, MS office, or Google Suites, this laptop has no issues whatsoever. I was able to do finish and publish my book with this very laptop. However… this is where I got very disappointed. Office tasks and other administrative work can breeze through. But when it comes to creative work…be prepared to pull a few hairs off your scalp. I connected an external HDD to view my recorded videos from my DSLR. Mind you… I’m just watching the clips to see which takes I needed to use. This laptop could NOT, and I mean CANNOT play any video without freezing or stutttering and replaying the first minute over and over. I have tried it multiple times with an SD or my external drive. I tried to download the files on the local drive (it’s got 512gb sure) but darn files took almost half a day to finish downloading from my external HDD. I then tried to download 5 short videos (about 8gb total) from my SD card. It took 2hrs to download 3 videos, and eventually told me there was a problem and could not continue with the download. I gave up and just cancelled. I figured, if this laptop has problems trying to play videos editing would probably give me a coronary. Ok, for the price, maybe videos are out of it’s capabilities (this is just trying to play the videos from Media Player and when that didn’t work I tried VLC but same issue). Ok, no videos. By the way, Youtube is fine. The only problem I have so far is trying to play a video from the local machine and not streaming. This happens even when I have no other apps open and just the media player, trying to play 1 video. So I moved on. I needed to edit my audio project for my voice over. Simple Reaper, with the shortef 10 second mono track. I was able to record with no problems. But editing, oh boy. The first second starts to play. And then audio just drops. No reason that I have been able to figure out. I save my project and restart the laptop. I check to see if there are any updates. Nope, I’m updated all the way. After restarting, I open the file again… this time, no audio whatso ever. Yes, I checked to make sure all connections are plugged in right, audio interface is on, output monitoring level is at 70%…i should hearing something if not getting deaf. I check to see if any other programs have sound. Sure enough, everything else is working except the audio file I am trying to edit. Verdict, this laptop is good just not well equipped to handle anything more than just streaming videos, or word documents and doing some heavy research. I know all the ports it has is just so tempting because they are so widely used by creators. But this (or at least mu laptop) just can’t handle it I think. Battery life is hit or miss. Full charge sometimes will say 7+hrs and sometimes will say 4hrs. I’m sure it calculates based on what you currently have open though.

A Stellar Experience with My New Lenovo IdeaPad

Having recently purchased the Lenovo IdeaPad from Best Buy, I've been absolutely thrilled with its performance over the past few weeks. From its sleek design to its powerhouse capabilities, this laptop has quickly become an indispensable part of my daily life, both for work and entertainment. One of the most striking features of the IdeaPad is its remarkable ease of use. Lenovo has clearly put a lot of thought into the user experience, making navigation both intuitive and enjoyable. Whether I'm browsing the web, managing documents, or indulging in multimedia, everything feels smooth and responsive. But where the IdeaPad truly shines is its exceptional ability to handle a multitude of open tabs without breaking a sweat. As someone who often finds themselves juggling between numerous tasks and applications simultaneously, this robust performance has been a game-changer. It allows me to work more efficiently, without the frustration of lag or crashes that I've experienced with other laptops. The keyboard design also deserves special mention. Typing on the IdeaPad is a sheer pleasure, thanks to the well-thought-out layout and tactile feedback of the keys. It's clear that Lenovo has paid close attention to the details, creating a typing experience that's both comfortable and accurate, which is greatly appreciated during long work sessions. However, no device is without its quirks, and the IdeaPad is no exception. I've noticed that some applications don't download properly or at all, likely due to certain restrictions. While this can be a minor inconvenience, it's a small hiccup in what has otherwise been a flawless experience. In conclusion, the Lenovo IdeaPad has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Its stellar performance, combined with user-friendly design and robust multitasking capabilities, makes it a standout choice for anyone in the market for a reliable and efficient laptop. If you're looking for a device that can keep up with the demands of both work and play, the Lenovo IdeaPad is definitely worth considering.

I recently purchased the Lenovo Ideapad 3i with a 15.6” FHD touchscreen, Core i5-1155G7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD in Abyss Blue. Here are my thoughts: Performance: The Core i5 processor combined with 8GB of RAM provides smooth performance for everyday tasks and multitasking. It’s efficient for browsing, streaming, and working with office applications. Display: The 15.6” FHD touchscreen is responsive and bright, making it great for both work and media consumption. The touchscreen feature adds a layer of convenience for navigation. Design and Build: The Abyss Blue finish is sleek and modern. The laptop feels sturdy and well-built, though it’s slightly heavier than some ultrabooks. Battery Life: The battery life is decent, lasting around 6-7 hours on moderate usage. It’s adequate for a day’s work but not exceptional. Storage: The 512GB SSD ensures fast boot times and quick access to files. It’s spacious enough for most users’ needs. Keyboard and Touchpad: The keyboard is comfortable to type on, with good key travel. The touchpad is responsive and supports multi-touch gestures. Overall: The Lenovo Ideapad 3i offers great value for its price, delivering solid performance, a good display, and useful features like the touchscreen. It’s an excellent choice for students and professionals looking for a reliable mid-range laptop.

False Advertising! Not 12th Gen Core i5 intel chip

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Just bought the Lenovo Ideapad 3i Core i5 because of the President's Day sale discount & also because it was advertised as having a 12th generation Intel Core i5 processor under the "Features" tab (see screenshot). However, as I was setting it up at home later, I noticed in the laptop's configurations that what I received was a 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor instead. Note that 11th Gen Intel Core i5 were released in 2021 while 12th Gen i5 were released in 2022 with more cache. So I went back to the same Best Buy outlet to get the laptop with the advertised 12th Generation Intel Core i5 processor. However, after checking, Josh from the Geek Squad there said Best Buy made a mistake on their website as there is no such thing as a 12th generation Intel Core i5-1155G7 processor. He said I could return the laptop & buy a 12th gen laptop instead which was at least $400 more! As I was recently laid off & needed a computer to look for jobs & code for interviews, I cannot afford to pay $400 more for a laptop and can't get a chromebook either for the coding required. So I had no choice but to begrudgingly take the same laptop back so that I could code for my upcoming interview. So buyers beware! If you are looking for a 12th Gen Intel core i5 laptop, this is not it! FYI, I chose the Lenovo over other brands because the laptop & keyboard felt sturdier (not too plastic) and better for hours of coding besides the fact that I can upgrade the RAM and SSD easily if required.

I needed two laptops to Zoom live presentations at a conference to those who could not attend in person. At first I tried to use Chromebooks for that purpose but Chromebooks have way too many limitations. The Lenovo Ideapad 3i laptops, on the other hand, did the job perfectly. One thing to note - these laptops come configured in Windows 11 ‘S’ mode. That means you can only install programs for the Microsoft Store. I was trying to load the Zoom app from the Zoom website and the laptop wouldn’t let me. It didn’t say it was in ‘S’ mode, just that my laptop settings were configured to not allow it. I’m pretty computer savvy, but for the life of me couldn’t figure out what was going on. Out of exasperation I tried to install Chrome to see if another browser would allow me to download and install a program. It was only then, when Chrome tried to install itself, that Chrome told me I was in ‘S’ mode and showed me how to disable it and run my laptop in the regular Windows 11 mode. In sum, this is a very inexpensive laptop that works well. I can run several programs simultaneously (e.g., Zoom and a large PowerPoint presentation) smoothly. Nice bright touchscreen. Highly recommend. Just be sure to disable ‘S’ mode.

My wife needed a new laptop for school because our old one was acting up and dumb me bought it without looking to see if it was upgradable. Well I didn't make the same mistake twice! This computer so far runs great! It's faster and smoother than our last one(off brand) and sleaker in style. I like the fast processor and ram plus a decent sized SSD hard drive for everyday use. This laptop offers the ability to upgrade RAM and SSD capacity if you so choose to do so and that was one of the biggest reasons I went with it especially for the money!! It runs super quiet even under load, but does put off some heat if it's on your lap. I ordered a cooler to go under it and it keeps it running cool and quiet for all day use. There is ONE complaint I do have and it won't effect everyone. This laptop ships with Windows 11 in S mode and that's ok for a lot of users that don't know much about operating systems and deeper computer skills etc, but for me it left the first day! lol Just know that if you switch it out of S mode Microsoft says you can't go back!!(however there is a way, but that's a whole other topic) Overall my wife and I are happy with this laptop and recommend it to anyone needing a good, fast, all around quality laptop!

I bought this laptop for my boyfriend for his school work. It’s a big upgrade over his previous outdated Lenovo that was struggling to open basic Microsoft programs. This laptop looks very nice, the keys and touch pad feel smooth and responsive. It’s very quick and handles multiple programs and multitasking without signs of slowing down. He likes the touch screen feature as well, helps him move quickly with some of his lab work. The display shows gorgeous and vibrant colors and is well lit. He took it out of S mode so he could download some other non Microsoft apps he needed, no issues and so far so good! The battery life also appears to last a long time too. Great purchase, especially at the $399 price point I was able to get it at!
